My vet wanted $150 to do a blood test on my Malamute for hypothyroidism. He has many of the symptoms including "mental dullness", lethargy, a very dry, itchy, stinky coat with dandruff and no undercoat at all. He also gets the runs a lot. I had been giving him flax seed meal which helped some with his coat and the runs. I did some research in hopes for a less expensive option, and the reviews for this product on some other site looked really good so I decided to try it. It's been only a week and a half now, and his coat is already way softer and fluffier than it has ever been. His bad odor is almost completely gone, and I think with a bath to shed the residual odor from before the supplement he'll smell even better. He also climbs onto the couch readily where before it seemed to hurt him and I would help him. I can't wait to see if his undercoat comes in. He has begun to shed which he never did much before, so I assume that indicates some new growth is happening. That means more cleaning, but well worth it if my baby feels better. He has more energy too. I will submit another review in a month or so with an update on his condition. I love that this product is natural and that it's designed to help his own thyroid function better rather than replace the hormone his own thyroid is supposed to produce. The price is great here on Amazon; I've seen it sold elsewhere for well over $30 for the same amount. It's definately worth a try before moving to expensive testing and medicine. My baby is a rescue and has been through a lot, and this supplement is already giving him the better quality of life he has always deserved. Thank you so, so much!

My old Rottie is 140 lbs and 9 years old. She’s always been a very serious girl. Always on call at my feet. Always ready to secure the perimeter. She was born wearing a mall cop uniform.When her vet said he wanted to check her thyroid because of her dull coat and dull attitude, I said “we live on a farm. She’s dusty. Her hair has always been on the thin side. She’s always unamused”. Her eyes were getting cloudy. I never got her blood work done because she seemed to be aging slowly.A few weeks ago she lost patches of hair very quickly. Down to the skin. I did some reading and saw hypothyroidism had many symptoms including hair loss, cloudy eyes, depression, fatigue. I decided to try these vitamins. She’s been taking them for a week and her coat has gained some shine. Her hair is growing back already. Her attitude? Nothing can fix a natural born mall-cop. She is moving around a lot more now and her eyes seem clearer and her face more relaxed and youthful. I have not changed her food or done anything else different.I will say she doesn’t eat these unless I really hide them. She usually doesn’t have a problem with meds but she goes out of her way to drop these out of her mouth.

This product was good at reducing my dogs itching and her fur looked healthier. She also experienced increased energy, however it gave her diarhea. Also, she didn't like the taste, I had to put a little peanut butter on it.

I was hoping this review might provide more a realistic expectation of this supplement and when it doesn't work. My 65 lbs australian shepard mix was diagnosed with hypothyroidism about 10 months ago and I desperately wanted to keep him away from synthetic hormones due to my own biases. I read many positive reviews about this natural supplement and was excited to give it a try. I gave my dog 2 pills twice a day as instructed for his weight. After 6 months, I had his thyroid levels checked and the doctor said his levels had gotten even worse. I then took him off this Only Natural supplement and put him on prescribed Thyrotabs. Since receiving the right medication for his disease he has lost weight and his thyroid levels and energy are now normal with little side affects. I wanted to share because even though we often wish and hope for a natural solution to illness, our dog's health should be our top priority. In my case, I wish I had stopped hoping this supplement would work and given him Thyrotabs earlier because now that he is taking the right drugs he is doing much better.
