OEM regulator for Valeo 180 amp alt
Exact replacement for Valeo 180 amp alt. Way cheaper than auto stores or dealer. Hardest part was during reinstall back into X5. Trying to realign long bolt with bolt hole while holding up alt took about 15 minutes. Whole removal/install took about 90 minutes. Alt now charging at 13.9 to 14.1 volts.

Cheaper than a new alternator
I used this to correct an alternator fault in a 2004 545i. This is a fairly common issue in these cars as they age and replacing the regulator is cheaper than replacing the alternator, and no more work. This fixed the problem entirely.
