Cut smoothly
I got this bit set because I was making a bunch of shaker style doors for a bathroom remodel and wanted to us tongue and groove for the stiles and rails. The instructions that come with bits isn’t that informative. It is mainly just two tables showing which components go in which order to achieve the width cut you want. Several people have complained about no marking on the shims. They are correct. You need a set of calipers to setup these bits. That is the first thing I did, used my calipers to measure all of the shims and place them in different stacks. I then just followed the chart to place everything in the order shown for the width cut I needed.For my project, I did 1/4” tongues and grooves. I did notice that the tongues were too tight to fit into my grooves. I double checked on both bits I had the proper shims in the proper order (they were). So, I adjusted the shims on the tongue bit until I got a nice pressure fit.Once the bits sizes were dialed in, I had no problems cutting with the bits. They cut cleanly and smoothly. For my initial project I needed to cut 6 doors and 5 drawers. These bits made cutting the tongues and grooves easy.Lastly, I love the hard plastic case the bits come in. It keeps everything the bits need in one place and latched securely.Overall, I am very pleased with the bits. I think if the directions were a little bit more intuitive and there was some sort of marking, color difference, or other way to easily identify the different shims I would gladly give these bits a 5 star rating.

Quality from CMT
Great bits, very sturdy, adjustable and good 1/2" shaft. I've been using CMT bits for years making cabinets. These replace some bits that were "borrowed" from my shop. Don't loan them out!

Great bit set
Great bit set. Very sharp and almost no tear out on hard maple. I like that I can use these for cabinet doors and even entry doors (because of the adjustability).
