DEL Ozone EC-10 Eclipse-10 Pool Ozone Generator

Used for years, reduces customers chlorine use and makes water chemistry easier to maintain.

The product simply did not work for me. After dealing with the tech Support at C-M-P for weeks, we got it seemingly working. But it has failed to reduce my need for chlorine. The attempt to return it has turned into a major run-around, with the manufacturer saying they can't help. Don't buy this product through Amazon, or don't buy it at all . When Amazon closes their 30-day return window, they slam it shut!

I use to have the Del EC-1. After changing the ozonator out several times, I decided to upgrade and go for a new brand. The EC-10 is perfect for my 12K gallon pool. I have my chlorine level at or around 0.5ppm and the ozonator does the rest. I love the freshness of the pool water. This unit appears to have room to add additional generators in the housing in the event you are at the in-between stage of water amount. Just what I needed.UPDATE - unit has been working flawlessly for 2 years. My GFCI on the circuit deactivated and after an intense day of troubleshooting, I found out my DEL EC-10 unit had water in the housing. So, this unit is rated for the outdoors, but after 2 years of service, the unit died. So, I opened the housing door and to my surprise EVERYTHING rusted! See picture. This unit should be able to handle outdoor usage, but based on the picture, I dont think so!

Proper installation: The closer you install the unit near the pump the stronger the flow of the Venturi air unit and it will push stronger air. My pool has a basement, I located my EC-10 unit near the pump and the unit a few feet above ground. I also installed additional eyeballs fitting around the pool to cover dead spot including the flooring of my pool, to distribute and spread the ozonized water faster inside the water.Tool for testing: I search for a tool to measure ozone. Its called a orp probe and it used millivolt (mv) to measure ozone.I test my water without chlorine just ozone in the pool and my reading was 250mv.Then, i test again with minimal chlorine in the pool with the ozone running for a few hours and i got a higher orp reading, 400 to 475mv. I uploaded diagram as a proof and my reading.Why do I used DEL Ozone? I want to maintain low chlorine level to be exact 1ppm or lower in my pool, this is why i bought it. I also want my pool water crystal clear at the same time. Yes the old models of Del zone may be not as good as there new units, but finally i did not give up on them. After several tweaks and attempt and some experiments and upgrades. I’m very happy!I used to have algae and i realized my test kits was expired and my old plumbing was poorly design. I had to revise my layout and piping and finally i invested in a good ORP pen type tool to correct it.Check expiration dates: Do remember the Manufacture say you still need to add minimal chlorine in your pool. If you dont have a accurate test kits. Your lost, it is important to check if your chlorine reagents are expired. Your reading will always be out of range. You may have high chlorine reading but in reality you have no chlorine at all. Result in your pool water is sudden Algae growth which is hard to control.Plan ahead: If you are researching forget using salt chlorinator, it will not work with Ozone. This is what tech support mention. Knowing this information ahead of time i decided not to invest in that technology and used ozone with chlorine tabs and built my own DIY chlorine reactor for easy maintenance. The problem with existing chlorine reactors on the market, All of them are covered and sealed. you cannot see inside the inside. This is a personal issue for me, coz i maintain my own pool so logically you want to know the tablets are depleted and all are pressurized. I needed a gravity feed and Transparent reactor. I decided to built one, using clear and transparent acrylic tube. As a designer and experience in saltwater aquariums system i customize 1 unit for me.Installation: Regarding the ozone eclipse unit. I Keep it above ground to avoid any water to reverse and go inside the unit. Even it has check valve installed for my peace of mind, i did it anyway.Blinking green. You may need replacement part. Its time to call Tech support or email them. They will send you a replacement parts. Just email them a video or whats going on with your unit as a proof. The tech support are very professional.

Only lasted one year and 3 months. Lights on modules went out.

I have owned an Eclipse 1 ozone generator for five years and have been very pleased with its functionality. The indicator light told me it was time to change the actual generator on the inside. Putting in the new generator was straight forward, simple. Unfortunately the new innards did not include the functional lights available on the original. Turn on the electricity and the two green lights show that it is working. Then close the case and guess for the rest of the time whether it is working or not. Now that it has been improved I feel that it is worse. Ozone makes no noise in this generator so you just hope that it is working. If any kind of problem occurs you will be completely unaware. The replacement of the generator updates the unit to an Eclipse 10. For my part a downgrade from the Eclipse 1. Never again!
