Works for Sandisk Sansa clip plus
The battery works as a direct replacement for a Sandisk sansa clip+ player. Spent at least one hour replacing the battery. The black wire would not release and then not re-solder until I switched to a blunter tip. Use a tip like the size of a used number two pencil, not the sharpest pointed tip. Almost gave up thinking I had soldered the black wire to the wrong point. After completing the re- solder, the Sansa fired right up in a quick test. Re- assembled the Sansa and completed charging in two hours.

Doesn't hold enough of a charge.
It works, but doesn't last long between charges. Sadly, there aren't many options for this size regarding availability. Not sure I would recommend this product for the asking price.

Same as similar looking Clip+ battery sold by Amazon
First, this is a good battery and match for both the Clip Zip and Clip+. I ended up buying this from third party seller because it specified Clip Zip even though the picture looked exactly like battery for Clip+ offered through Amazon (for less money with Prime shipping). I actually ordered both and discovered they were identical. Now for the actual battery review. I had nothing to lose on my old Zip. Old battery held 0 charge. Getting the case open was difficult and messy (a thin guitar pick was the best tool I found), but doable with care. The biggest trick was using a small soldering iron to loosen the old battery wires and connect the new wires. An initial start up and connect to computer with case open looked good so I closed it up. Then when I closed the unit and tried to use it things got wonky, wouldn't start, wouldn't connect to computer. I believe I had the problem was solder/flux bleeding across connections in the tight space. So I opened the unit back up and resoldered one connection and carefully scraped/cleaned between connections. Voila! The old Zip was revived for 1/3 the price of the newer models which, by all the reviews, don't work half as well as the old Clip Plus or Zip. I've been using it for a couple months now and it seems to hold a decent charge and function well.

Should Work
Don't know what happened but mine would not hold a charge. Amazon refunded my purchase price but I will try getting an original replacement battery.

The black rubber tubes cover the actual wires and you can see the ends.
The 3 battery leads were covered in black rubber tubes which had to be spliced in order to expose the cooper wire that needed to be soldered to the circuit board on the Sansa Clip Zip MP3 player. You could not tell where on the back tubes covering the wire ends you needed to splice.

So far so good - replacement battery for SanDisk Clip+
So far battery is performing to expectations in my San Disk Clip+ SDMX18R-008GK-A57Original battery (after ~8-10 years) died quite rapidly over the course of several weeks. Quickly dropped from dying after 45 minute jog to dying within 15 minutes.Found this battery and decided to try. While not an exact match (original battery was slightly longer), the specifications on the batteries are identical in terms of voltage, wattage, amperage, etc.Ran the other day for about 60 minutes with no problem. Unsure what the max battery life is yet or what sort of longevity it will have overall, but it works. Prying open your mp3 player is going to be tricky; I had to wedge it with a micro flat-head screwdriver set. Must also know how to do basic soldering for the 3 wires.

Works in Sansa Clip Zip
My Sansa Clip Zip needed a new battery. This is the right one. It has the same colored wires as the original. it was easy to solder in. It went in easily and works perfectly. I'm very pleased.
