Stetson Men's Fort Crushable Wool Leather Hatband Cowboy Hat

I discovered that Stetson hats are made in Garland, Texas by Hatco, Inc. The company also makes Resistol and Charlie 1 Horse hats. I have a Resistol vintage,80's I was told by the person who gave it to me they thoughtit was 1980's.Very well cared for but with age,the band has sorta fallen apart but even so..it's still a favorite...This Steson is right there ! It's already feeling like it's going to become a favorite & it's only been on my head for about 2 hours.I love this hat..The Cav cord is a bit long with the "acorns" hanging over the brim & I did'nt want to have to have a new one stitched on in it's place so, i just looped them around the cord.The fit is excellent,the weight, the feel. Hopefully,it will hold up to the anticipated amount of wear it's going to receieve.Very happy with it.I owned two Stetsons in the 70's & a Resistol.My old hats were lost in a house fire & I've managed to pick up several that I really like.L-R The Stetson, Charlie One Horse & a Longhorn Hatters specially made for me by my late friend Don Livingston in San Antonio. This new Steson looks great,feels great,is a perfect fit,the best fitting hat, right out of the box, that I have bought since the 70s or 80s.Would definitely reccomend.Should be cool & light enough for the coming warm weather.Should offer excellent sun protection & was a good value for the money you put down for it I think....& money is tight with me but needed something for warmer weather.Again,great hat...I've worn a cowboy hat since I was probably around 5 years old, so a lot of them have graced my weathered gray head..This Stetson Fort is one of the best I believe,& again, I've only had it on a couple of hours & it feels right...I added a couple of pics as an illustration of what you can do if your cord is a mite too long.Hope you enjoy your new (maybe favorite) hat !

The hat is great! its a lot of hat for the money. but its not silver at all. I guess I should have payed more attention as it is a buff/cream color... I changed out the hat band with a black hatband which looks great on it. really cannot complain. nice and warm for those chilly fall mornings.

I have always wanted a cowboy hat styled like this ! And best of all it is a Stetson ! I fell right in the middle of sizes and took the chance going bigger and the hat was too big but that was my bad. The store I purchased from was super cool about exchanging the hat for the proper size and I am very happy with my purchase !

Receive lots of compliments on it

It's a tad different than pictured and they punched the tags in the back of the hat which left a slight hole. Other than that, I'm happy with the hat.

This hat is not worth more than $30. The cords are way too long and hang over the brim, the price tags are punched through the hat and the cords are stitched to the hat. I have numerous quality hats from Twister, Stetson, and Justin. I happen to have an old cord from another silver belly that fit and will use this hat for old west reenactments where it will do nicely since it will take a lot of rough handling and I won't really care if it is torn up and misshapen. I have seen better quality hats at Spirit Halloween.

I've been looking for this hat a long time! I've been wearing cowboy hats daily for 40+ years now, and this one is the most comfortable one to date! Looks sharp, easy to shape and feels sooo comfortable. Iv'e spent a heck of a lot more than this on Stetsons and Resistols, this is an absolute bargain! Thinking of getting another one just to have, if and when this one wears out, and you never know when they might discontinue this line. Highly recommend!

Admittedly, I feel a little dorky walking around in my John Wayne Cowboy hat... a little like Opie Taylor walking around Mayberry dressed like a cowboy. But I get compliments on it... probably from men who also wish they could walk around town dressed like a cowboy. But my wife REALLY likes it, so that's all that matters!The hat was just a touch too big, but that is ok by me as it allows me to put a folded paper towel in the headband to absorbe some of the sweat.
