Tram 1498 white base antenna
I was really skeptical of how this base station antenna would perform due to the low cost shipped to Hawaii.. ($140).. Easy installation in 3 pieces.. If you have basic knowledge.., You can figure out the Tuning rings.. I mounted it on a 20ft. Telescopic pole mast. Tuned it to 1.00 @ 50 ohms swrs on the bowl (ch.6) using a AA-35 Rigexpert antenna analyzer. Used 50ft. Of RG-213 coax. Put about 260 bird watts through it an got my Roger's! I can talk&receive Gaum skip really well from Honolulu Hawaii. This is a pretty simple fiberglass base antenna that can handle 2000 peak watts, Its pretty wide banded an it has Great ears too! I Just purchased a black one for a friend! Well worth the money in my opinion for a basic omni base station antenna.

Carefully follow the instructions and protect the PL connections from water/moisture infiltration.
Tuning the antenna as per instructions for the desired frequency range has resulted in very good performance, with SWR readings close to 1 and no noticeable loss in TX power. At first I thought that the bottom section that fits into the holding pipe was a bit short to support the weight/length of the antenna, but it appears to be adequate so far.Lastly, it appears that the last screw to stabilise the bottom of the antenna into the holding pipe is being impeded by a preset internal screw ( turnable by the larger hex wrench provided but apparently already set), Unless there was another opening I missed. Will double check.

Not good for high wind
Lasted 2 years and broke in first section with 70MPH winds.

Good antenna for a good price.
Easy to tune and gets out great. I got this after having received two dead procomm pt99's and then having trouble tuning in a maco v58. This one has been the easiest to setup and get talking on.

A good Alternative for A-99 for an underused band.
Very good alternative for A-99, No complaints on performance, I can't tell any difference from my A-99, However....I see a big difference in price. To be honest we know the CB band is very underused today (at lest here in North Georgia) For that reason I prefer not to pay too much for a base antenna.
