" Is this for Real?'
Yes this plane was for real, and it did fly, however it didn't get beyond prototype stage. This kit surprised me, in that it far exceeded my expecttions. It's a positively beautiful kit, it has increditable detailing (full cockpit detailing, very detailed weapon bays and landing gear bays), very fine engraved panels, and some really nice conjectual decals. ANYone that's into WW II aircraft, MUST get this kit , it is truely AWESOME!! It is a fantastic tribute to the genius of the young Horten Bros. who designed this a/c. early in WW II--- a plane that was a flying wing, mostly wood, low radar cross-section (40 percent of that of the Bf-109), and using a carbon based glue (can you say:B-2). I very highly recommend this kit! GO FOR IT!

well detailed
I have not built a model in something like 20 years. I am 63 now days and the old eye sight is not what it use to be. That said the model being a 1/72 scale can be pretty small for old fingers. I was still able to build something I find satisfactory. I would have preferred to have a model 1/32 scale or even larger but I am glad they a least built this size as not many builder probably even know what this aircraft was or is. It is well detailed, may be even a little too detailed considering the size. I wanted this model because no picture I have ever seen does justice to the shape of this aircraft. I built it with the wheel’ s up and have hung it by thread just to admire the lines. It is beautiful and looks modern even by today’s standard. If it were larger I would have given it 5 stars.

One of those, little known secret aircraft the germans were unable to mass produce.
This is a small 1/72 scale model of a very revolutionary aircraft for even today. Prototype first flown over 70 years ago. The first low Radar profile stealth fighter. Actually out performed ME262 in mock dogfight. Arrived too late to be put into production for German war effort. Ran into two problems with model. Part #1 needs to be rounded off to allow proper fit of part #23. Second, instructions show part installation of part #9 upside down, causing problems when installing part #60. Other than that no problem. Pictures shown with and without landing gear. Red 13 and Blue 4 insignia supplied with kit. What is interesting is the first glider prototypes flew in 1939. Now, the new Next Generation Air Dominance (NGAD) Fighter looks an awful lot like it. I guess the Horten brothers had the right idea. Some people ask if it would have actually flown? The is a video online of a very large RC Model that flew quite well. They did find out why there was such a large front landing gear though.

Nice little kit
Great little kit of a great airplane. It was fun to build and adds a good conversation starter to my collection. There are some fitting issues and smaller parts are clunky, rather than delicate, but still a great build.

Nice model
I have this in a display with other model aircraft showing how man learned to fly. The Wright flyer is at the bottom and the SR-71 Blackbird is at the top, and this model is in between. Looks good I'll send a photo when I have finished it. Thanks again Amazon good work and keep it up.

Revell Ho-229
The Revell Horton 229 kit is a highly detailed kit of what an operational HO-229 would have been.It has a well detailed cockpit and armament bays. The decal sheet is thorough and includes octane markers and no-step demarcations. An excellent kit for the money.
