I bought this as I was getting a new tank ready for use and wanted to do daily test for ammonia. Works really well and is simple to understand. The only tricky bit is measuring the initial 5ml of water but I use a syringe to measure it. Still clearer marking on the test tube would help.

It’s an ammonia test kit, it does the job, always ideal to have in the arsenal to keep an eye on levels. But I bought this originally while setting up a new tank, so didn’t really need the full test kit until I needed to start testing for nitrates and nitrites. Good little kit and does what it says. As long as instructions are followed, you can’t go wrong.

The test is really easy to use, put 5ml of water into the test tube, and add 5 drops of each of the 3 test solutions, shake then wait 10 mins.The only minor failing is that the test tube could have clearer markings, a dark line for 5ml, it only has a really faint etched line which is almost impossible to see in dim light.Like all these kind of tests they rely on comparing the colour of the solution against a printed chart. A test on my pond gave a very faint yellow tinge to the water, even lighter than the zero reading colour, so I guess that's good as a green colour indicated high ammonia.

I was originally using dip tests for ammonia in my axolotl tank, but found them unreliable. So glad I bought this! Cheapest I could find but works just as amazing! Works in the timeframe it says on the box.

I’ve used tests from several other brands and it’s always hard to see the lowest concentration, which is the one you need most. This is the easiest one to read and dead easy to do.
