Very helpful for preparing for the CPH exam

It really upset me and my homegirls that I did not read the reviews before I purchased. I had a funny feeling when I started studying something wasn't right--even though I finished my MPH less than a year ago, I felt I knew nothing. Then I got to question 11 and knew something was up. I included it in the pictures. The way the question was worded was so foolish and grammatically incorrect I knew that this book could not have gone through an editor. That's when I read the reviews and it confirmed my suspicions that this book is not helpful in the least bit. Then the other questions (I only made it to q. 11 before i bought the other CPH exam review book) were poorly written and the corresponding answer explanation left me even more confused. Sometimes, the corresponding answer wasn't even addressing the questions!! Ho is it possible within the first 11 questions, there are already egregious mistakes like this? The explanation wouldn't clearly state why one answer was correct while the others were not. I like to know why answers are wrong just as much as I like to know why they are right. This book does not provide those types of explanations. Overall, if I could give this book a zero star review I would. I can't even return it because I started writing and highlighting as soon as I got it. So now I am stuck with a worthless book.

This book has wonderful questions and PLENTY of them!!!

Given that the point of this book is to be a Q&A to help practice for the CPH exam, it's pretty disappointing. The questions are not written in the same format as the exam, with many of them providing additional context that makes it much easier to answer (such as giving definitions or examples in the lead-up to the question) that are not provided in the exam setting, as well as many questions with extremely obvious answers. If you rely on this book for the exam, you will be unfortunately surprised when you show up to take it.Many of the answer options were way too easy, with three obviously incorrect answers. Would not suggest this for people who wanted to access more practice questions for the CPH exam, but rather as a review to identify areas that were less familiar. For example, here's one question posed in the book: "verbal communication includes: a) body language, b) words, c) proxemics, d) hand gestures".As other reviews have pointed out, and I wish I had read prior, there are also several questions where the explanation does not match the question asked.The only benefit to this book is that there were a few questions where I was able to see that the potential answers were unfamiliar, so I was able to do more research to better prepare.

I am always searching for teaching materials to recommend to students - I always purchase first to assure quality. I was hoping this book would offer a new discussions points with public health students, but no. I have encountered so many questions that are poorly worded, with non-answers or incorrect answers (either the wrong selected answer OR incorrect justification) that I cannot suggest they use this book.While each answer has at least one citation, many of the items that should becoming from text books from SME, are instead coming from obscure research articles and/or websites. Many of the answers are explained well below a Master level, but with such strung out/run-on/compounded sentences, the answers are difficult to read.Many of these questions are also first order - requesting a definition, but the actual definition won't be in the explanation. There are also many questions where the incorrect answers are not explained as wrong or why. These qualities greatly reduce utility as a study aid.

I like that it is question based and prepares me to get ready to take the exam, however some of answers contradicts directly to exam review guide that I also bought and often B and D answers are mix-used. For example, the correct answer should be D and explanation supports answer D but it would have the letter "B" as the answer. Also when I looked up the link on the answer explanation, it often times does not have the specifics to support its reasoning for the answer. Somewhat frustrating to me.

The very first test question in the book has an incorrect corresponding answer. I don't have time to waste as I prepare for my exam. How is it a study guide OUT THE GATE can be so erroneous?I can't send it back because my return window has passed.Don't waste your money. Don't waste your time.Find another study guide to help you prepare.
