Worked perfect for our recipe. Was very scared to try it as we were very faithful with sure-gel. But 1st time using it it didnt disappoint. Loved it!

Works as advertised

I have bought these 10lb packages several times and it has never failed me. This item was always packaged in double plastic heavy bags in a sturdy box but this time it was in only one bag. The bag was damaged and a lot of the powder had leaked out. Please go back to the double bag packaging.

This pectin is fantastic and much more economical than purchasing little individual containers of pectin. I make hundreds of jars of jam each year and it works perfectly every single time!5T = One box/packet of Surejell or other namebrand pectin. (The instructions that come with it say 1oz per batch but they mean 1oz by weight NOT volume. 1oz by volume is not enough; 1oz by weight is about 5T)If you are having trouble getting your jam to set, the problem isn’t the pectin itself. The most common cause is too low of acidity for the pectin to set (try adding 2-3T of lemon juice - you won’t notice a change in the flavor) or not reaching a strong enough boil. When you double or triple batches you will often run into issues with setting due to the depth of the fruit preserve in the pot during the boiling phase. For double batches, use the widest pot available to you (more surface area will increase the odds of a good set).

My mom likes to make jellies, jams, preserves and all sorts of stuff that requires pectin. We do not buy store bought anymore because of the amount she makes (and how good it is). The normal brand we purchased was out of stock for a while and we decided to give this a try. After a few batches of jellies and jams, I asked her how she liked it. The answer was "Wow! This stuff is really good, look at how well this jelled and it isn't even cool. All I did was follow the recipe in the box and it just worked". This was followed by a lot of thanking and more ways this was the best pectin she has ever used. The only problem is that the new stuff she is making is getting used before the stuff in storage because it is just better.
