FOLLOWING THE INSTRUCTIONS WAS SIMPLE, BUT THE BEST THING WAS THE COMPLETE COVER-TO-COVER SEAL. WHEN I COMPLETED THE INSTALL AND CLOSED MY KAMADO, I WAS STARTLED BY THE RUSH OF AIR THAT CAME OUT OF THE TOP CAP, AND BLEW ACROSS MY FACE. THIS FORMS A TIGHT SEAL! IT WILL MAKE A HUGE DIFFERENCE IN MY TEMPERATURE CONTROL, SMOKING FLAVOR, AND COOKING TIMES. GREAT PRODUCT!

If you own a KJ and have had it for a while, you've probably experienced gasket fault. I won't say failure, because it didn't exactly fail, but it did unadhere (is that a word?) from the cover. I've re-adhered the original gasket in the past using a high temp adhesive/sealant. That worked for a while, but I finally decided to break down and replace the gasket. KJ wants almost double the amount for a replacement gasket, so I decided to go with this on. So far it is working as expected. Be sure to thoroughly clean the mounting surface with a wire brush and some alcohol before applying. And I gave it 24 hours to set before starting a cook.

Arrived fairly quickly, considering delivery in Portuguese islands.The product quality is excellent. I installed in a 21” klarstein Kamado (chinese ones with several rebranding) and it fits perfectly, with some 15~20cm left after cut to fit.Installation is “simple”, as it bring sticker, but you must carefully treat the surface before to remove all the old glue, grease or dust.On my case, I scraped the old felt gasket and brushed with a steel brush. Then, cleaned it up with a sandpaper until the ceramic is completely clean. Blow off dust and clean with a wet cloth. Carefully installed after fully dry.Take your time to install it, stick it slowly by small sections (5cm/2in) at a time, so you can bend it without wrinkling the glue sticker.Ended up very nicely fitted and strongly glued.

One package is enough for both the top and bottom of your KJ Classic II grill. I used a putty knife to remove the previous old worn out gasket and then used steel wool to sand the area. I then used alcohol to cleaning the area before installing the new gasket.as good as the original.

The gasket was easy to install and seemed to work initially, but after opening the Kamado Oven several times after installation, the top seal just started to droop. Definitely not worth the $79 I paid for it!

Item is good quality but it will not do a complete Big Joe. You can do the bottom seal with some left over, but not enough to do the top also. Two boxes will do a complete Big Joe, and with the left over you can do a complete Joe Jr. The seal on my Big Joe measured about 82" long, so you need at least 164" of seal to do both top and bottom if you did it perfectly.

I installed this gasket on my Webber Summit smoker. wasn't the easiest thing to do but not that hard either. there is enough gasket material to do one gasket, I put it on the top lid only. it worked perfectly. now I have no smoke leaking from the gasket area. it's a little pricy but it solved my problem.
