DiamineBlue Velvet Bottled Ink, 40mL, Watercolor, 40mL Triangular Glass Bottle

I was looking for a striking deep blue ink for my fountain pen when I stumbled on this. I had tried some other brands but either found them to be washed out color or too close to black. Why couldn't I find a simple deep blue that looked professional? Blue Velvet meets that requirement admirably. It also doesn't come with some of the side effects of some other deep blues. Bay State Blue is a legendary rich blue color but is ultra-permanent, to the point where it tends to stain everything it touches. Blue Velvet will stain my fingers, but will also wash off with a good scrubbing. On the page, though, it just looks rich.

Blue velvet is a superb ink. It's very smooth, lubricate nibs fabulously. A modest red sheen, heavy saturation, good manners on all papers, a tiny bit water resistant, with very little shading. this Ink is a deep, saturated true blue and really does smooth out a scratcher nib.Overall I am quite happy with this, it really distinguishes itself from other inks. The closest I can think to this would be the Goulet exclusive noodles liberty's Elysium, which doesn't sheen, isn't quite as smooth, but is very waterproof.Blue velvet is a very apt name for this color.

Best blue ever for me. Is deep, brilliant blue without the blackish undertone that makes some blues appear almost black. Love it.

Very buttery smooth “wet” ink feel. The blue is a very deep and dramatic blue color. For more interesting everyday writing, go with Majestic blue. It is almost as smooth, but has nice hues of red throughout to jazz up the overall lines color tone.

The ink came from overseas but was undamaged and didn't take too long. If you haven't seen this ink, I am not a big fan of Blue inks but this ink is amazing and beautiful, and made a convert out of me! I now use it in my two favorite everyday carry pens with fine nibs. I am a lefty and it doesn't seem to smudge/stay wet too long. Others can speak to it's permanence, waterproof qualities, fade resistance, etc. I just think it is a beautiful deep blue that is vibrant as well!

I like to try different blue inks. This one is dark, but beautiful. Gives it a lot of character. It is also very smooth, making an already smooth nib seem to skate across the paper. I won't hesitate to order this one again.

Showed up on time and in good shape. Being new to fountain pens ive been trying different ink samples, the Diamine Blue Velvet, being one of them and i fell in love. The ink flows great through my Jinhao 599 and the colour is a nice deep blue.i highly recommend this to anybody with a fountain pen.
