Works well but can't find replacement beads. Someone let beads out so need replacement pack.

I have a relatively small pond @ 400 gallons, with a lot of fish @ 30 with some that are 15 years old and 15/16 inches. I am on my second BBF 1000 filter (technically I could have opted for the 500 but in 2000, the price difference was minimal so I figured might as well go bigger than necessary). After 15 years, my first one failed due to user error, I neglected to empty it before a hard freeze, it froze solid, and the incredibly durable plastic cracked around the valves. It would still be going strong but for my lapse. Now I leave it empty and unused Dec/Jan/Feb (we live in MD). Full disclosure, mine sits outside but under the deck so UV damage is not an issue. Also mine came with a spring valve at the backflush air intake that did not always works as well as I wanted so I replaced it with an on/off valve.2nd one bought in 2015 is just as sturdy, no issues, excellent quality. The simplicity of this system (no moving parts, no electronics, low pressure), the natural bio scrubbing of the fish waste as well as the physical filtering of larger stuff and the INCREDIBLY LOW MAINTENACE, and of course healthy 15 + year old fish make this the only option for me.Maintenance is back flushing: Turn 3 valves, let the water run out for 60 seconds or so then reverse 3 valves. Frequency: Spring/ summer 3-4 times/ week while fish are eating, fall 2 times/ week.You know all the muck, leaves, etc that accumulate in the pond over the winter? This filter clears it out in a week.Finally, if you are a gardener, the backflush is incredible natural fertilizer. Using this product for 19 years, would not use any other. It is pricey but I am comfortable with my ROI.

This filter works well in keeping the water clean and it is easy to maintain. The professionals at AST were helpful in sizing the filter and expediting my order when I was in need of a filter in a hurry.

water quality has greatly improved for my tilapias. you just have to do some adjustment and make sure you have the right water pump to push the water with appropriate pressure through the apparatus. very happy with this product.update: after about months of use, the plumbing for the filter started having issues. the unidirectional discharge check valve where the water exits the filter stopped working and outflow was reduced by a lot. i removed the valve and the unit started working again. for an expensive filter like this, i expected higher quality parts but the filter itself is working great so far.

The Bubble Bead filter cleared my koi pond in 48 hours. Backwashes easier than others I have tried. I highly recommend!!
