Amazing product! Better than any other fountain!
This is the one!!! If you are looking for a fountain, get this one. I looked through every kind of fountain from every brand imaginable. This fountain is EXTREMELY well made, and nearly whisper quiet. It does what it says, my kitty is literally drinking almost 8-10x more water with this. Before I got this I never saw her drink hardly ever, now I see her at the fountain 5+ times a day and sometimes she stays there for up to 3 minutes or longer just lappin' away. Her litter box doesn't even smell like pee!HOW I GOT HER USED TO USING IT (THIS MAY REALLY HELP YOU IF YOU ARE HAVING TROUBLE)...At first I was very upset because she wouldn't use it, the product manual even stated this may happen. So what I did was I unplugged it and set her normal water bowl on top of it for a few days. Then, making sure she was watching each step, I set her bowl next to the fountain and then turned the fountain on. I let her watch as I poured water into both. I pointed at one and then the other, back and forth and told her they were "nice" (a word that makes my cats very happy, much like 'good boy' does to a dog). Apparently all she required was help understanding that the stuff in the fountain was the same as what was in the bowl she had grown accustomed to, because she walked right up to the fountain and took her first drink, just like that. Granted she is not quite 2 years old, and much more open to new things, and also extremely smart, so it may not be quite as simple for some people with older cats. Still I think the technique is solid, much like yard-training a puppy, using pee-pads in the house then transferring them to the yard so they can make the association as to where the appropriate place to 'go' is. Honestly I think taking the time to sit down with them and explain what is going on is the key, just getting down next to the fountain and letting them know it's a good thing. I left the old water bowl next to the fountain for a couple days but she never used it again. This is a must have for cat owners, the price is right and it will make your kitty healthy and happy. Also you wont be fishing lint and food out of the water and changing and cleaning their water bowl every 5 minutes.

Now this is Fabulous Find!
Purchased in Jan 2017 for a 22-yo cat. Now almost 7 months later here to review. The cat loves it. We have tried many of the well known and seen in the big box pet stores fountains over the years as pet owners. This one by far is superior.Noise: Motor...? Practically noiseless. And I say that only because if you are sitting down right by it, with no other noise, you can hear a gentle low, low, low... did I say low..?... hum. Not even a hum... well you get the audio sound picture. The bubbling water actually makes more noise and that isn't very audible. Slight bubbling noise. You literally can not hear it.We had no other place to put it but in an open concept kitchen with her food when we moved a few years back. Don't even know it's there.Cleaning: With one cat, and she is a small petite thing, we find it's best to clean at least 2x month, but have not adhered to that in a strict military sense :). Disassembly, cleaning each part and re-assembly take 5-10min depending on the amount of slobber-slime (I know, gross but she is a part of the family) our cat produces. Complexity of cleaning these fountain type water wells was a 'watch out for that chore' for me. This, again, is a breeze.Cat hair floating by and into the water well gets caught efficiently by the filter. You want to disassemble it completely to clean as the small slotted grill on the side of the motor catches any additional residue that gets past the round main filter.Design: The water level can go low in the tank, and the motor keeps the stainless steel drinking bowl full of water. The only design feature we wish it had was a water level indicator line or stainless rim to indicate that you can stop pouring water in... eek. Overflowed it a couple of times. Now stick a finger on side for water level indicator.

I hate this redesign with every fiber of my being
would give it negative stars if I could.back in the late 00's, I got the original CatIt fountain (had a blue top). the cats loved it, but I gave up on it because that stupid filter support had so many sharp angles that made it hard to clean.when my last steel fountain died, I thought I'd give CatIt another try, since it's been over 10 years. not only did the not fix the design flaws, they've doubled-down on them; twice as many sharp corners and cutouts to reeeeeally make cleaning as frustrating as possible. the filters don't go edge to edge like the old ones, sooooo what is even the point if the water can escape around it??? the filters themselves are just.... stupid. instead of 3layers, you have quadrants.... what idiot designed that?? and the thing my cats loved most about the old one, the gently curved blue dome, is now a series of depressions where water collect. it's God damned awful.still, I put the fiddly thing together and plugged it in. as many others have stated, it leaks. and, as it turns out, the cats hate it as much as I do! the piece of crap is going straight into the trash where it belongs. pissed off I wasted nearly $40 on it.

Instructions are sparse and lacking, but once I figured it out, it does work
I own another Catit product, and it is difficult to clean. This one claims to be better for cleaning purposes. Just received it, and we'll see. Assembly was unclear, as the instructions included were unclear and at times absent. Once I figured out where all the parts went, the pump seemed to not be working well. When I disassembled it, I took a second look at the pump, and it has a small slider on the filter side of the pump itself. Moving the slider to the L (towards the + sign) allows larger holes to be open, and allowing good water flow. Now it seems to be working adequately. One other thing, there was a sticker on the box that seems to indicate that the product was preused. Nothing on the page indicates that. Perhaps that is why it was inexpensive. Perhaps I just missed that on the page.
