This is a valve adjuster for a lawn mower. The steel is uniform and Hard steel to do the job. It is simple to install and Fixes the problem of the valve stem gluing itself to the valve guide in case you ran your oil a little too long and it builds up varnish. Use point cleaner on the valve stem after removing the spring, tap the valve end with a small hammer til it reaches the valve guide, and turn the blade of the lawn mower until the piston pushes the valve back up, while squirting point cleaner on the works. Eventually, the valve will loosen up and the spring can be reinstalled with a piece of dental floss. New oil and your on the lawn!
