Very inexpensive option to replace my damaged original Onkyo receiver remote. I had exhausted all options of getting a replacement and stumbled upon this. So glad I decided to try it because it was seamless. I got the remote the next day I ordered it through amazing Amazon next day ship service, threw a couple of AA's in to it and it worked like a charm. Mine is a Onkya TX-SR608 and I didn't have to do anything to set it up.

This remote turns my ONKYO on/off and the volume. It can turn on other devices attach to the receiver. I don't know how to use all of this remotes' functionalities and too lazy to try. However, the reason I bought this unit from the same company was that I was able to turn my Verizon settop box on, switch channels, on demand channels etc... with the previous remote. It broke and I got this as a replacement but this one does not have the ability to turn Verizon settop box on let alone switching channels.... I was very disappointed. But it turns my receiver on and the volume can be controlled with the remote. It works.

There is no dedicated TV controls on this remote, despite what the picture shows.If you're going to sell a remote with specific functionality, you should show a picture of the actual product!Remote does actually function and control the receiver, but without proper dedicated TV functions, it's useless as a single system remote.

It happily controls my receiver, and that's all I really care about, because up until now I had no remote control at all. It does feel a little cheap in hand but I can't be too picky at this price.

I bought this primarily for the price and good reviews. It works pretty well for most functions, but the volume control works off and on, which is a little annoying. It seems to work once per session and after that you have to adjust the volume manually.
