Q: will these work with Airplay 2?

Sady not. These speakers are now old technology and were designed for a hard wire contact to a source or via bluetooth. Airplay 2 is a new medium for transmitting lossless signals and these speakers are not designed for this. You may wish to find something more modern.

Q: Anyone compare these ti vanatoo transparent zero’s? they are both about the same price

Cannot say on the Vanatoo’s But I did first have the XEO 20s which were $800 a pair. I had to return them after 2. Weeks as the Bluetooth function stopped working. The XEOs had a more pronounced bass - but the Egg was a sharper cleaner sounding speaker. The egg works every time and is quite musically clear and crisp. I do know the Egg does accept the Apple Bluetooth Codec which is AAC. As an iPhone user that was very important to me as I only used these as a Bluetooth system to stream I tunes and Pandora from my phone

Q: Is there an rca input?

There is no RCA phono pin plug input; however, the analogue input is a 3.5 mm stereo mini plug. You can connect the headphone output of a computer to this input as long as you have a stereo cable with male stereo mini plugs at both ends.
