I would consider myself an audiophile really. These speakers are the second set of speakers we were trying in our kitchen ceiling. The first pair were very disappointing and we were recommended them from a specialist ceiling speaker firm (monitor audio I think they were). Dreadful tinny sound. We were just about to despair that this was the best you could achieve from Ceiling mounted speakers given that they are not in a speaker box. Then these arrived! A little later then expected, but boy are they good! Even though they only have a tweeter and bass speaker in them the range was far wider than the other ones, all mids covered. The bass is rich. You can really turn them up and get a good sound out them. Great for parties or just back ground listening. A very good purchase with a very happy family. I can't recommend them enough. I don't think you need to spend more than this to achieve a result that you want.
