Pretty much crap
I have no idea how these workout gloves have a 4 star rating. First of all they are suppose to be leather. They feel like a cheap "pleather". I find no evidence of leather anywhere. The inside is a cloth like material and the outside is pretty much covered in that pleather material. The padding is so thick on the palm of the glove that it's difficult to get a good grip on the bar. Leaves me with no real feeling of a secure grip. The four fingers fit pretty well but the thumb is so tight on me that I can barely ever get the gloves off. As for durability, I am seeing the material between the fingers already start to split down the sides. I have only been using these for a little over a month. I have included a picture of the index finger splitting. Going to start looking around for a true quality leather pair of gloves.

First Impressions
I am writing this review on the DarkIron Fitness gloves as a 'first impression' review, focusing on the initial fit and finish and their function through my first two workouts. I ordered according to instructions which just confirmed what I kind of felt would be my size..large. They are true to fit. I have 40+ years in the gym and I have some experience with gloves. I do not know how they sell these as cheaply as they do...watch out, here comes a price increase :) Seriously, they fit like a glove...no pinch points between the fingers, enough padding on the palms, but not overwhelming. Nice and light even with the leather and mesh build. Attention to detail on the stitching. Could press dumbbells and grip for heavy pulls easily. Flipping the Tireflip 180 XL a breeze. Don't want to sound too strange here, but, I could easily brush my teeth wearing these gloves LOL. Also, Alan is great with customer service as I also own the weight belt and straps. Buy these today if you need gloves. PS. This may show up under the name Lynn, but, I'm her husband. Cheers!

Comfortable and well padded gloves
Problem:I bought these gloves because the sets of lifting and 'cross-fit' gloves I had weren't really protecting my hands during exercises or felt unnatural. Plus, I'm not a fan of callouses.Product:As you can see from the images, I've purchased several products from Dark Iron Fitness, primarily because they haven't disappointed me yet. The gloves have pretty good padding on the palm for protection, while also being very comfortable and not disrupting the feeling of the exercise. So far I've used them on pull-ups, benching, squats, curls, dips and military press. No issues. My housemate tried them also and liked them so much I'll be purchasing a second pair (to use instead of the three other types we've bought).Personal con:YMMV, but the only exercise I didn't care to use them on was deadlifts with my hex bar (which has a rougher grip). It didn't feel all that pleasant and could have just been the grip + amount of weight. I may test them with a set using the normal bar instead to see how it feels in my next workout. However, I have some grip pads that I generally use for those anyway, so this isn't really a minus to me.

Very nice lifting gloves
I haven't used gloves for around 7 or 8 years now, instead only using wrist wraps for heavy pulls. With that in mind, here are my thoughts on these gloves after a weeks worth of workouts using them:- Very well constructed, was worried about the stitching and piecing of the material but it is very solid. Due to the mesh design my hands never got hot and sweaty which is why I stopped using gloves in the first place.- I didn't enjoy using them for pulling movements as it added an extra cushion between my hand and the barbell. Mentally it felt like I had a weaker grip.- I did enjoy using them for pushing movements as even heavier barbells were comfortable in my hands.- I would suggest ordering a larger glove if you are in the middle of a size as I feel mine just fits and takes a minute or so to take off. I believe I just ordered a size slightly too small.Overall, I would recommend these lifting gloves in you normally wear them for working out.
