I bought this to replace the same model. After 7 years on a boat, in use at least several nights a week for 20 weeks a year, the old one was starting to show signs of deterioration. I love the self-lighting feature, which worked without fail until the electrodes were covered with ash that I had neglected to clean for 7 years. When I finally disassembled for cleaning, I noticed the deterioration and decided it was more effective to replace than repair.

Would recommend to anyone looking for a grill on your boat, this can be mounted to the boat or using a rod holder/light holder. Cools off quickly after using.

What better way to enhance you experience on a boat? Bought this with the rod holder mount. Almost perfect, but there are a couple issues.#1 You can't tighten the L bracket bolt tight enough to stop it from tilting. Although it did stay in place, one small bump and your food is in the water/deck/you. Tried to tighten with a breaker bar and the stainless bolt sheared off. Ended up having to grind some teeth marks in the joint to give the brackets something to bite on. With that mod its now stable enough for me to grill on. I think this is a safety issue as it is.#2 The internal components are locked into place when grilling (which is great!), but not when using it as a stove. As a result, the pan holder slides all over the place. I modded it by drilling/driving stainless screws through them to keep it in place. If you are cooking with oil and you get a rough wave, better hope you have a burn unit nearby.Great concept, but the design needs some tweaking. After all, these are supposed to be designed for a marine environment!

Expensive but absolutely a must have. I have been using these for 20 yrs and when one burns out I get another.

My auto ignition doesn’t work. I hear it clicking but it doesn’t arc but the burner and therefore doesn’t ignite. I have to use a match.The grill itself is amazing! Love it... I’m sure I’d love the push button ignition as well.

1) I had to put a shim (20 ga wire) to tighten the kettle2) lighter does not work, even after replacing battery.

Had this on the wish list for over a year and finally pulled the trigger several months ago. I wish I had bought it sooner. This thing has not blown out once in over 40mph winds and rain and cooks up cheddar brats in less than 6 minutes. holds heat very well, hasn't dropped a single drop of anything in the boat and cools down very quickly to store and continue a day of fishing. The fuel bottles seem to last forever and have found many other uses for it abilities such as coffee, cinnamon rolls and pizzas with a 15" cookie sheet on the grill. The igniter works very well and havent had to use a lighter yet.
