Replacement Audio Upgrade Cable for Sennheiser HD650 HD600 HD580 Headphone 3meters

Ordered this to replace my original cable for my HD580 headphones, since one of the ears was flaking in and out as I moved my head. The braided cable used for the bottom half feels very nice and durable, and I especially like the spring at the end of the cable to reduce strain. The red upper cables are slightly smoother and less grippy than the original material, and are a little bit bulkier as they are rounded instead of flat, however they also seem high quality and durable. The 1.2 meter size is perfect for daily use with a close desktop headphone amp or audio interface, or to connect to a phone and walk around with. Unfortunately they are just too short for me to comfortably turn and play my midi keyboard on the opposite end of my desk so I plan to return them and have ordered a longer sized cable from the same company (they offer a 2 meter long version on the listing for the black version, hoping it's a happy medium between this and the extremely long original cable)

These cables are excellent both in audio quality and in length for my application. I have my tower computer setting on the top of my desk. These cables are just the right length to provide comfort and ease of access without dragging items off the desktop. The cables are well made. The ends that go into the headphones are marked L and R for easy attachment. On headphones where it is difficult to read the left and right markings on the headphones themselves, different color connectors would be preferable but that is as much an issue with the headphones as the cables. I have had issues with other headphone cables dropping the signal due to loose fit in my Sennheiser 600 headphones but these fit snugly. Very pleased.

I love my Sennheiser HD660s headphones, but let's face it, the stock cable is simply far too long for daily use. Add in the fact that I use a 3.5mm headphone connection, and it just doesn't make much sense to use the OEM cable from Sennheiser. Did some looking here on Amazon, and I settled upon this cable from New Fantasia. The length is absolutely perfect at just a bit over a meter long, and terminates in a standard 3.5mm connection. The red colored headphone connections are indeed different between left and right, you just need to pay attention and compare them to the original cable (one pin is larger than the other). Once in they fit snugly, and I haven't had any issues with them falling out or becoming stuck. While the red section appears to be a soft touch plastic, the rest of the cable is a nice braided material that resists tangling. The end piece of the headphone jack is made of metal, with a coiled section to reduce tension from bending the cable. It also comes with a 1/4 inch adapter that can screw on if needed. As for sound quality, I have noticed absolutely no difference from this cable to the original stock cable. I was worried that there might be some loss in sound quality, but thankfully that is not the case. I'd definitely recommend this cable to anyone looking to make their HD660s more portable, without sacrificing sound quality.

I've never subscribed to the thought that super expensive cables offer the return value to justify the expenditure. That's just me, I guess, and those with deeper pockets might tend to disagree. I purchased this cable to replace the ridiculously long stock cable on my Sennheiser HD 600 headphones after purchasing a replacement cable for my HD 598's a few months ago and would say that I am very much pleased with them both. The cable for the 598's doesn't feature the red rubber connectors that this particular cable does because it's a single cable that attaches to just one ear cup but the actual braided cord is identical in terms of appearance and quality. The quality itself is very solid and I didn't experience any difficulty getting it to connect. The pins went in without any effort and the most difficult part of changing out the stock cable was actually in getting it to let loose of the ear cups in the first place.I can't say that I can hear any significant difference in sound quality after changing out the cable but can say without reservation that the stock cable is absurd in terms of it's length if using it for portable listening or if connecting your headphones to a desktop DAC and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone who wants a better alternative.
