My Rheem Series X HVAC condenser fan motor fizzled last March toward the end of the last polar vortx visit, and I checked YouTube to see what others in a similar fix did - they changed it! I found the needed info on the old motor and ordered an exact copy from Amazon. I took measurements of the fan placement and pictures of the old wire connections and I had the new motor installed in 90 minutes. The only hangup was getting the fan off the old motor; use Liquid Wrench and a mill file to pare down the rust and be patient. I also changed the capacitor that I ordered in tandem with the motor, since I was in there anyway. Also consider cutting off the supplied electrical clips on certain wires to facilitate snaking them through the overcrowed short conduit to reach the logic board cabinet; you can buy replacement plug-in clips and crimp those on after the snaking. The new motor has been running since March and I can only say I am happy with my purchase. I cannot do much about the HVAC's compressor and refrigerant lines/valves but I now have the confidence to try peripheral repairs in my 20-year old units.
