The "official" saddle bag guards sold by Harley-Davidson, like most of their products, are substantially overpriced. These bars cost almost $100 more through H-D. I've seen those on a friend's bike, and I can confidently say the ones I bought through Eagle Skull Motorcycle Parts are just as sturdy, perhaps sturdier. The parts and fittings sent were high quality, and I could tell when I replaced the original saddle bag supports that these were superior. Fitment was perfect, with barely any adjustment needed.Note that they came with zero directions. I looked up installation instructions on H-D for the "official" parts and found them to be more confusing than necessary. I suggest looking up a video from someone who has self installed these instead. For myself, I just figured it out on my own, but I'm experienced at modifying and repairing my vehicles, so your results may vary. It was a fairly straight-forward install, but be aware that it requires removing saddle bags, the original supports (VERY tight bolts - use a break-free type lubricant), seat, and side covers on both sides of the bike. The nuts supplied were of higher quality than stock, but I wish the kit also included replacement bolts for all parts.Finished look is quite nice, and the bars look very capable of holding the weight of my bike, fully dressed. Hopefully I won't ever need them though! The guards themselves have perfect chrome, and the connector to the support is also chrome until meeting under the saddle bag, so the overall effect is clean and elegant.

Reasonable fast delivery. Appears to be good quality. Chrome shines nicely. Easy install. Good purchase and I would recommend this item to bikers.

Perfect fit. Chrome is perfect. Like a glove….if you want to pay 378+tx at the dealer, they look identical!

Bought these to install on a 2010 FLHTCU after I upgraded to the 2014 and later saddle bags. You will need to reuse the lower support bar and trim about an inch or so off where they slide into the new crash bars if your installing them on an older biker like mine. The fit was very good and they appear to be heavy, not cheap metal. The quality of the chrome also seems to be very good. I would definitely buy them again over paying twice the money for the Harley ones.
