Great multi-tasking clear gel
This clear gel comes securely plastic-wrapped with an additional seal over the opening, ensuring no leaks. While it has a noticeable hard plastic smell, the odor level is low to medium.I love having clear gel in my collection because it has so many uses. And this large bottle ensures that I have plenty for building, overlaying, encapsulating, and reinforcing my nails and designs without worrying about running out anytime soon. The formula self-levels beautifully, although there were a lot of bubbles during my first use but that might possibly be due to it being freshly shipped. However, the self-leveling was impressive. I applied a layer of gel on the nail and by the time I finished poking all the bubbles to release them, the gel had smoothed itself out almost entirely that I only need to fix a few areas here and there.Originally, I got this gel to use mainly as a brush cleaner to remove color gels from my brushes without alcohol or acetone, but the thick consistency isn’t working for me. It creates too much resistance when working through bristles, which feels harsh and like it might damage the brushes. A thinner formula might be better suited for this task.

Such a great product
This is one of my favorite clear gels which is why I finally purchased the 8oz bottle. Works great for mixing in colors if needed.

What It Is And What It Isn’t…
I did a lot of investigation of this IBD Hard Gel before using it because there wasn’t much information on this page. Turns out that this was the hippest hard gel around and used by most pros out there by 3 years ago. It is being sold by some places for 78. dollars for this same size. So, because this is being sold here for a lower price than most places and on prime so it’s free shipping, I’m going for 5 stars. Many people in the know love this hard gel. What it is and what it isn’t:What it is, is a great builder. This stuff is thick but not too thick to go on well and stay where you put it. It is beautifully self leveling. It is great for encapsulation as you can see by the 3rd photo side view. I was working with large, gold spheres that needed to be encapsulated. This hard gel was easy to work with and did the job in just 2 layers with no bubbles. However, a few days later when I did an ombré effect with 3D elements (not pictured), it was a cold day. The gel was cold. I noticed that in cold weather the gel has a tendency to thicken up more and bubble a bit sometimes. It’s not perfect. During my research, a couple of people mentioned this. They said that on cold days, they would simply throw the IBD container into some warm water before the salon opened in the morning to lighten up the consistency. Some reviews on the net said that it was a good top coat. For me, it didn’t work well for that because of a long time for it to dry despite an LED Lamp cure. That said, I was doing the set of press on nails that you see in the first and second photo. I put on the IBD, cured, and didn’t have time to do the next step until the next day. Well, it dried perfectly solid and smooth by the next day. I did the black flocking that you see on the pink nails for the first time ever that day and it turned out that the fact that this builder was dry was the only thing that made the flocking work right! If the surface would have been sticky, it would have been a mess with the flocking sticking all over the nails! These nails aren’t finished yet. I will be adding 3D elements inside the shapes here but that’s another day….In the last photo, I used this IBD as a builder. I used a 3D putty sculpture gel (that I added chrome and glitter to, formed shapes with it between my fingers, and placed the shapes on top of the IBD. They adhered beautifully so I am exceptionally happy with this product overall. So, for the cost here for 8 ounces of a Great builder and encapsulation gel it has earned 5 stars from me.I hope seeing actual application of this gel in the photos and information from that experience has helped you figure out if this is the choice for you or not and here’s wishing that you have lots of fun and success in your nail journey!🎉

Super sticky builder gel
This is a thick and runny builder gel, and an extremely sticky one at that. I tried to put it into an empty builder gel bottle I have, and it didn't want to spread the way one usually does with this type. I had to use a polygel brush dipped in 91% isopropyl alcohol to pat it down, as it glopped onto the nails with the bottle brush, spidering as I pulled it away, then cleaned my fingers of the spidery strings of residue.I don't see how one could do overlays with this, as it doesn't act like the hard gel it claims to be.Used with dual forms to make the thin nails you build up it sort of works, but I still cannot stop that spidering.I have been given this product and tested it for review. All opinions are mine.

Perfect for Salon-Quality Nails at Home!
I absolutely love the IBD UV Clear Gel! It’s the perfect consistency for building and sculpting nails, and it cures beautifully under a UV light. I use it for both enhancements and as a top coat, and the results are always flawless. It’s strong and durable, and my nails stay looking fresh and shiny for weeks without chipping. The 8 oz size is great value too, as it lasts a long time. If you’re looking for a high-quality gel for your nail art or at-home manicures, this is a must-have!

Nail Tech Approved
This clear gel is a reliable choice for both professionals and DIY enthusiasts. Its self-leveling formula makes application smooth and efficient, reducing the need for extensive shaping or filing. Users appreciate its quick curing time—about 30 seconds under an LED lamp—allowing for faster manicures. The gel provides a durable, high-gloss finish that resists chipping and lifting, making it suitable for overlays, extensions, and natural nail strengthening. While some note that it's not HEMA-free, its odorless nature and ease of use make it a favorite among many.
