Exceeded my expectations….
I researched similar products before buying and this brand and model was always coming top or near top in reviews. I had a big hillside of weeds to clear, some 6ft tall. I knew it would be expensive to pay someone to clear so took a chance, not knowing what to expect. All I can say is…wow. This thing made short work of it all. It took me a couple of days to learn how best to use the product, how to maximize the wire, how to tackle stubborn weeds, but once I did, it was a joy to use. The battery lasts a long time and is quick to charge. Buy extra lengths of string if tackling a big job and learn how to ensure it lasts a long time. My wife was skeptical but no longer. Make sure you wear safety glasses and protect your feet and arms as things get thrown around and at you. I saved around $2k clearing the hillside myself taking about an hour a day over a week. Fantastic, powerful and well built product with the added benefit of a long warranty. Only gripe is that I wished I purchased sooner

Great product.
Ego products are just the best. The self-winding option is pretty cool and easy once you figure out how to do it. It’s light weight and works excellent. You never go wrong with an Ego purchase. Great value for the money. Appears durable as well.

The Trimmer of My Dreams
Yes that sounds dramatic, but it's not an overstatement. This trimmer was such a massive upgrade for me and it has substantially improved my lawn maintenance routine. My previous trimmer was a cheap corded big box store brand and was long past its useful life when I decided to upgrade.I chose the EGO cordless based the outstanding reviews and now I know why it has such high ratings. This was an investment purchase for me (paid off in installments), so I did a ton of research before taking the leap. There was a lot of consensus among YouTubers and bloggers that this was a great product, but I was still a little reticent to drop this amount of cash on an optional piece of lawn equipment. But this baby has proved itself worthy of the price and the reviews! It was very easy to assemble, although I did have to watch a video to see if I was installing the handle correctly. Speaking of the handle, it's very sturdy but also very comfortable and my hand doesn't get tired of holding it.My favorite feature of this trimmer is the automatic string loader. It took me a little fiddling to figure out how to feed my line into the loading holes, but once I did, the magic began! The feeder is a little noisy and you have to keep an eye on it, because it will swallow up the whole string if you don't stop it in time. Don't worry if this happens to you though because it's easy to open up the string chamber and start over. The battery life on this baby is excellent! I've never run out of battery while trimming my lawn. I've used it for an extensive cleanup in my back yard to take down a large amount of brush, and it still didn't get close to running out of charge. The battery docking station was easy to mount to the wall, and the battery is fairly easy to get on and off the trimmer (although it takes a little push to get it on).I saw some reviewers say that the weight of this machine made their arms tired (primarily because of the big battery), but I find the weight to be an advantage. It makes the trimmer feel more sturdy and allows me to make smoother lines when I'm edging. This trimmer has made me a master at edging by the way. I get compliments on my lawn from fully grown dudes all the time (I'm a lil gal), and I can see their envy when I whip this bad boy out. My yard has the cleanest lines in the neighborhood, and I'm very proud of my progress at making crisp edges along my driveway and sidewalk.Overall, I cannot recommend this trimmer highly enough. My only regret is that I didn't buy it sooner!

Excellent trimmer but not great for edging.
I’d give this trimmer 4.5 stars if that were an option. It is an excellent trimmer. I have other EGO power tools that use the 56v batteries and am very pleased with them. The auto-load feature for the string was what sold me on this trimmer. My other trimmers required me to either wind new string on the spools myself or spend too much $$ to buy pre-loaded spools. Reloading string with this trimmer is very easy. We have a small lot but a lot of landscaping that requires trimming and the battery life in the 2.5ah is fine. The trimmer has lots of power and having two speeds is a plus when trimming thick things. It’s a little heavy but is balanced well. The only thing I’m not pleased with is edging. My other trimmers worked well to edge along sidewalks and curbs. This trimmer does not edge well. Even at its lower speed it is awkward to edge with it and I end up with an uneven look. My solution is the buy the EGO edger. Had I known I’d need a separate edger I would have gone with the power head option for the trimmer and swap out the trimmer for the edger attachment when needed. Live and learn.

It's all it's cracked up to be for sure......
This is a serious weed whacker. I've had a 17in and 16in gas trimmer in the past and I don't remember them being so powerful. I bought this to dig out a 20 foot sidewalk that has been almost covered in turf. This worked nicely. The only reason this wouldn't work for you is if you had a lawn business and you couldn't stop to recharge the battery, but then again if you had more than one battery it would be fine. It does have some weight to it and it probably is too much trimmer for a lot of homeowners who just need to trim around a couple of trees and the AC unit. It almost feels like I could cut down a wooded fence with this. That power-load feature is really nice also.

A GREAT TRIMMER!
easy to use, easy to reload string, very capable of handling typical yard issues. I like this one better than all the previous trimmers I've owned.

Heavy
This weed whacker is excellent! The battery lasts for an hour of continuous work and the line is very easy to install. One drawback is the design weight. It is heavy and really should have a harness with it to make it easier to manage. Very quiet with immediate line feed by bumping.
