Q: I can't understand why this wouldn't work for a 75 gallon tank it's just air?

Make sure the pump is above the level of the aquarium not below it or else water can travel in from the hose line into the pump causing damage to the pump. Are the dials on the pump are all the way up on the highest Setting? I’ve been using these pumps for several years. I own 6 of them! I have two 75 gallon tanks and one 120 gallon tank. All work fine. Are you using the original hoses that come with the pump? Make sure to cut the original hosing evenly in half, then connect one end of each hose to each air ball and the other ends to where they connect on the pump. There’s only two ways in my own experience the pump won’t work, if the hoses are incorrectly connected and water gets into the hose and goes up into the pump (damaging the pump). This pump is for two outputs meaning you have to cut the hose in half, making two hoses that connect to each air ball. If none of this helps, you may have a defective pump.

Q: It has a tab with a hole, as if it can be hung on the tank. Is there something available I can hang it on?

NO! You do not hang a vibrating piece of electronic equipment onto a glass water-filled tank. Ideally, they should be higher than the tank--the screw hole is for a wall.

Q: Does this pump come with any air stones?

It came with two small Air Diffusers that attach to the side of the tank, they are not Air Stones as you might normally think of them.

Q: Nice pump, but I don’t like how easily the padded feet fall off, any suggestions ?

I suspended mine from a screw in the wall behind my tank. Very quiet and no problems for 18 months now. Good pump.
