PERDE Black Housing Halogen Headlights Compatible with Volkswagen Beetle 1998-2005 Includes Left Driver and Right Passenger Side Headlamps

This is a review correctionI received these lights and attempted to install them. I watched several YouTube videos on how to do the uninstall. Removal of the old ones and the reinstall of the new ones! During my first review which I left below, I stated that the light did not fit in housing /car. I contacted the seller and they advised me that I did not install them correctly and how to do it correctly. I went into the hole where the light goes in and there are three screws that adjust the fitment. Mine were too far back so when I put the light in the ring wouldn't grab the tabs. It seemed to be in as far as it would go but in reality it just wasn't getting grabbed and pulled in. I loosened up the bolts. Pulled the ring forward. Attempted to install the light and the ring grabbed the light and pulled it in flush. I was so relieved and these lights look spectacular.******(Below is my first review that I feel bad that I even wrote)******The install was easy! Seems to be the same as old one, but it sticks out. I looked up how to adjust the depth of my housing. It was already adjusted as far back as it would go. I still attempted to make it go back further. Alas, no luck. I don't know the difference between my car and other customers cars, but it won't fit mine but it does fit theirs. I have a 2005 Volkswagen new beetle convertible with halogen lights. I'm still going to give this three stars. The build quality looks great! It loses 2 stars due to the fact that it does not fit my specific Volkswagen. It functions as described, but doesn't fit as described.**P.S. My apologies to the seller! I'm very happy with my purchase!

Have to say I really like the look of these black housing replacements. The black housing seems to make the headlights appear smaller and makes my Reflex Silver '02 New Beetle Sport look even sportier.Removing the old headlights was a little tricky, because they fit snugly and they hadn't been removed in the 17 years since it was built, so once I got them loose I practiced pulling them out and pushing them back in a few times before installing the new lights. It's a little tricky to align the guides, so it can take some patience, but once they're aligned properly the assembly will slide into place, though both needed a little tweaking to get the latch to close. Again, it takes some patience, but they need to be snug in order for the headlights to be aligned properly, but the result is well worth it.These units came with new bulbs already installed. If the bulbs in your old units are still good, it's probably a good idea to remove them and keep them as spares.

Do yourself a favor and buy these lights for your BUG! BThese new headlights are worth every penny! They were easy to install and worked as expected. The old headlights were original to our 2000 VW Beetle and no matter what we did to restore them, they were a lost cause.These new lights not only make the car look newer but the lights are bright and the brights shine brighter!If you haven’t worked on your own car before, this is a task that can be completed in minutes!! The passenger light is easier to access so start with that light first. (Find a video on YouTube if need be.)

They need to say no seals. The biggest problem is the plastic mold on the inside. The tabs that do keep the seal in place are not very pronounced. I'm sure this varies with manufacturing. This is something they can check or chnage on their line. And lastly, I couldn't get the new connector to work with the amber light bulbs, so I had to use my old one which works fine.Other than that, nice look and fit! 😊

Added before and after pictures, picked these up for my 17 year old's Bug and they look great!Original ones put up a fight coming out, I also had a hard time with the 20 year old aged plastic sliding catches to lock them back in. Plenty of YouTube videos to make sure I was not going to break anything lol.Happy to see they came with the new rubber seal and rear plastic weather guard. Also came with bulbs! removing the old ones from the old lights to keep as spares.If I had another Bug I'd upgrade with these again! I would recommend these lights for sure!

Very pleases with these headlights. Not certain about reviews saying there were no gaskets....mine did and fit well except for slight gaps toward the bottom. One light had some fine speckles inside the lens, but the housing comes apart and was easy to clean. Vendor was very responsive via e-mail. Definitely worth the money. Just lube all the slides and pins with silicone grease before installing, but that is true with the OE headlights as well. Installation can be a bit "cranky" due to the design of the circular clamping mechanism VW uses.

They look good...work well so far...only had them in for two days.

They put out really good light and seal perfect, but I bought 2 sets at the same time and had to disassemble one light in one set and both on the other because the adjusters to set the light were not put together. It was an easy fix just took a bit to figure out why I kept trying to put light on the moon.
