Q: How is this sized? the description says big girls but it's offered in s, m, l and xl.

M was good for a size 10/12 girl

Q: what size would a 29" chest need?

These are a nice stretchy material. I simply followed the size chart and bought the same size as the t-shirts my daughter was wearing. She is now a larger size but can still wear the previous size after adjusting the straps since there is some give.

It seems to fit like most “standard” child sized clothing!!!! My little girl wears a 3T/4T and the small mostly fits but is loose on her which is how most little girls clothing fits her if we purchase a “standard” child piece of clothing verses a toddler size!! Hope that makes sense!!! I THINK the “big girls” statement is meant to be just that a “statement” not size...like oh “you’re a big girl just like mom” kind of thing!?! Hope that helps!!! They are very soft and great quality for a little girls “bra”!!
