Q: are the drive gears replaceable ???

It appears that the gears are replaceable as there are polished screws attaching the gears to the lid.

Q: Recently bought this and it is really loud when you turn it. Does anyone else have this problem. Should I return it?

I have the exact same one, and no, it isn't very loud. I operate a corporate kitchen, we make a fair amount of noise normally, but this unit isn't disruptive at all. Maybe you have defective gears in yours? Ours works great, been going strong for about 4 months.

Q: Where is it made? Is the plastic made with antibacterial treatment?

As I recall it’s made in China. It is made from polycarbonate plastic which is FDA food safe material if properly washed, dried, and stored.
