Great little adapter to use SSD technology in a 1.8" IDE PATA disk slot on a vintage computer. Just be careful to flick to tiny voltage switch to the right settings for the SSD otherwise it won't work !

Bought this to upgrade my geriatric Powerbook G4. Drive fitted into it well and the sturdy case fitted perfectly in the Powerbook's IDE drive space. Makes a huge difference to the performance of my trusty stalwart, which I use only for backing up old camcorder footage and watching the occasional DVD.Good purchase. Happy with it.

Worked fine for ssd upgrade with no problems

Good item did the job to a degree but doesn’t fit into the storage bay as the pins are out of place from the holder.

I recently picked up a very cheap little HP LifeBook 2530p. CrystalDiskInfo told me that the original HD had problems, so I opened the compartment cover up to be met by a mini SATA HD, so my spare SSD was no good. After a Google search I saw this was recommended. Fortunately I also had a spare 128 GB mSATA drive, and it fitted perfectly. I could even use the original screw to hold it firmly in the drive compartment. Just installing Windows 10 on it as I write. Perfect for upgrading something like this HP which uses an "unusual" mini SATA drive. As the mSATA drive is inserted upside down in the drive bay, hopefully it will not overheat. It may have been better for it to be facing up, and benefit from the cooling grill on the HD cover, time will tell.

Bought this to help retrieve content from ide equipment. There are less pin holes in the adapter than pins on an ide connector and even after checking the position of the pin blank it is not clear where to plug it in. It cannot be connected anyway because it does not match ide pin centres. Position of pin holes drift off by about half a pitch over the length of the connector. Kept trying but if forced it would damage the ide pins. Gave up on it. There might be other brands that do fit but would not recommend this one.

I used this to upgrade a 2005 Apple iBook. Perfect solution to install a modern drive in a retro machine. Obviously use to the PATA interface you aren’t going to get the best speeds from the drive but it certainly improves on the speed and more importantly the reliability of the original spinning disc of rust

This small, compact, well made ide to sata converter works a treat, at least, it did for me. No problems whatsoever. I,ve got my new but unused 8 year old lightscribe cd/dvd burner working for me at last in a new build.
