Q: How do you resharpen it and what do you use?

I've had my knife for over 4 years and it is still very, very sharp. You can use a regular sharpener and something like a small Lansky sharpener for the serrations. I've given several of these knives as presents and every one is pleased with it. The knife is $12.99 on Amazon.

There was no guard on the handle

Q: is it good to cut bread ?

This would be a good knife to slice bread. It may not be long enough to slice a French loaf in half though. You can’t beat this knife for the price. Cold Steel was recommended to me by a professional knife sharpener after sharpening my Shun knives (which he does NOT recommend.
