Is it only Kava root in this product or is there more?

I contacted the company directly a while back and they verified that the roots aren't the only part that is used. Their response was something like "Vanuatu has some of the strongest Kava in the world, some people find the root alone too powerful, that's why we use root mixed with stem." Mind you, I couldn't find the email they sent me, I guess I deleted it... but I'm pretty sure that stem is used. I remember 100% though, that roots aren't the only ingredient. You can see for yourself, on the ingredient list of this variety it reads: "Powdered Vanuatu Kava", yet another variety of theirs lists "Powdered Kava Plant Root". I ended up not giving this company a try because of these shady practices, whether or not any variety is 100% roots. You can't trust any company nowadays... I recently contacted Kava(dot)com also... & don't get me started... let's just say I won't be ordering from them either. Oh and also, I get bad vibes from RootOfHappiness...not just because they ignore emails. If anyone is looking for Kava vendors, don't know who to trust, just starting out, etc., check out KavaForums for some good info. Off the top of my head, the site RealKava has great Vanuatu... or you can't go wrong with KalmWithKava.  :)

How do you prepare this??

Strainer cloth:
110-140F
Above 6-8oz The amount of water is up to you, but may or may not give you a better concentration.
2-4 tablespoons.
5 minute soak in a cheese strainer/mesh bag
Knead the bag for 5 minutes.
Pour over ice.
Might get another round of kneading from the same bag.

Kava bottle:
110-140F, you might be able to go higher than 140F.
This beverage was normally made by hand, the water temperature isn't very high.
2-3Tbsp in a kava ball.
Shake or soak, then shake the roots.
Shake for 3-5 minutes.
4-8 oz for first shake.
Shake again for 3-5oz
Less water may give you higher concentration/stronger shells.

The don'ts:
- Do not ingest solid bits/roots.

- Boil the water.
*This goes for any tea or herbal beverage.*
*Different chemicals have different boiling points, you will destroy many KAVALACTONES.*

Chamomile tea for an example has water temperature flexibility. The higher the temperature or longer the soak the more tannins there may be. The polyphenol and terpene concentration shifts as some chemicals have a boiling point of maybe 140-160(fake numbers) or 170-180(fake numbers).

*There are thousands of organic chemicals in plants with their own freeze point and boiling point.*

Some info for those that want to try other herbals.
CYP450 - Some medicine works better for others.

Recommended herbal combination.

Damiana extract - 2-3 full droppers in your kava ( relaxed giggle)
Kanna alkaloids - ^

Or nutmeg nuts(caution on dosage) before your drink (3-6 receptors agonized/antagonized)

It seems to be all natural.  Se of the brands are tested by each bag but some others possibly only by large amounts.  If you are buying from Amazon it seems always pure enough to me
