Great Product! Great Support!
The product arrived quickly and worked great for our small fiber project between two buildings. It has been in use for over six months, and we’ve had zero issues with it. Additionally, their customer support is fantastic. We accidentally ordered the wrong version, and they were prompt and willing to send us the correct product.

Does the exact job I needed
I'm the operations manager for a datacenter. I had a fiber circuit brought in to create a point to point path between the datacenter and a remote location. The original plan was to install fiber native equipment. But in the end we were supplied with a copper connection on one end. No matter. This media converter quickly and easily allowed me to get the circuit up by doing exactly what's it designed to do; convert between fiber and Cat5e/Cat6 at Gigabit speed. We haven't had any issues with the circuit so the media converter is doing its job well.

No setup required- plug and play!
Got this as a low cost alternative to the high-prices ones available. Never heard of this brand, but for the price, why not. Boy was I pleased when I got my product. Shipped in a well-packaged box, and the converter was wrapped in an anti-static bag, and everything was neatly folded and tied up inside the box. When I first tested it, I was very pleased that I had to do no setup or configuration. I am more than capable of doing it, but the less the better. I love this converter, and would buy again. In fact, I’m thinking about buying some more to finish up a fiber project I have going right now. Thanks for such a great product!

Great Product - Works Perfectly
I bought the AD-Net AN-UM-SMC-AS-J Media Converter with one SFP slot to use testing SFP modules for a development project. The converter worked perfectly. The attached photos show the converter with the supplied power supply plus two photos from some simple tests I ran. This testing used a wired 1GB module in the SFP slot which was connected to a WD MyCloud drive (Blue cable). The WD support 10/100/1000 MB connections. For the wired port of the Media Converter, the White cable is connected to a 10/100Base-T/X hub on my LAN and the Black cable goes to a 1G port on my router. The photos show the indicators light properly according to the connection speed. Router diagnostics showed proper speed connection in each case and speed tests also showed the good results at the rated connection speed. The AD-Net AN-UM-SMC-AS-J Media Converter made my testing of the SFPs very easy. I will be buying another one of these converters to use for testing Fiber Optic SFPs soon.

Works perfectly with HP Procurve switches
After spending weeks trying to get another switch to establish a link to a core fiber switch in my basement, this worked like a champ right out of the box, immediately establishing a link. Combined with a small gigabit switch, this replaced an old, noisy, and power-hungry 10/100 switch that had a fiber uplink port. Now I have gigabit speeds for the coper ports, no fan noise, and lower power consumption. As I upgrade rooms throughout my home, I will look to this brand first.

Great Product, Great Price
These are simple media converters that have performed flawlessly for us. I just received my second order of 10 units and shipping was fast. Product is, as described and have experienced no issues. It auto-negotiates unlike other more expensive units we have tried. We've not replaced a single unit in operation; they are still going strong.
