Good cable headers for DIY soldering / connector-ing
Got these so I could make some manual controls and one-off interfaces between a motor, a switchbox, and a small computer interface. Had zero difficulties. Soldering into the pins was easy. Slightly annoying soldering onto the shield layer, but that's always the case and not a failing of this part. Full success, very happy.

It does the job
I was pleasantly surprised to see they still exist. Do not overheat when soldering your wires to the metal pins, they may displace from the plastic collar

Bought these to modify them for shorter right angle connections
These are very simple connectors that you disassemble to solder on wires. I've been looking at the midi hammer units that are supposed to be the lowest profile mid cables , but since I need to make custom lengths I decided not to pay the premium just to cut off one end and and resolver. Sure call me cheep. I took one of these apart to try. and cut down the strain relief to just the steel shield end, soldered the wires (bought a hosa 25 foot cable to cut down to custom lengths ) and reconfigured the end after testing the solder connections and added a bit of shrink wrap . See picture for details.I still have to cap the back, So I figure a little elbow grease and time to keep from buying 7 cable's @ about $20 a pop. Over $100 in savings. The midi hammer cable sure are nice though if you have the cash to throw down.

replacement plugs.
if your restore CB's and other radios, you have to have the right microphone plugs.

Just OK
Solder points are small and the casing slides off easily unless you pull the metal tab up a bit. Not great but if you aren't going to using them on the go they should be ok. Permanent to semi-permanent installs would be best.

Good quality connectors for good price
Exactly as expected, good quality connectors (for non-professional equipment). Easy to solder, good quality materials. Worth every penny.

Budget quality.
Like another review says, just OK. Yes, the boot does slide off, and lifting the tab a little sort of corrects this. This connector could have been better if it were more like original equipment. It does plug into the socket good and seems to hold in kind of sturdy but it don't lock into place which could lead it to fall out of the socket, especially if used with a mobile CB radio. This is for the budget minded buyer. I'll be buying something better if I ever need more.
