Self-Portrait with Thorn Necklace and Hummingbird by Frida Kahlo 1000-Piece Puzzle

This is a beautifully made puzzle, but isn’t for the faint of heart. The lower 1/4 should not be underestimated, and the black areas will truly drive you crazy. It might even top my list of most challenging puzzles I’ve put together! I didn’t know I had a list like that until just now, but you know. Expletives may or may not have come out of my mouth on more than one occasion.Aside from that, I love how the resolution allows you see individual paint strokes. For those who paint or draw, this provides a fascinating look into how Frida painted this piece.Fun fact: Kahlo painted this self portrait after her divorce from Diego Rivera, and at the end of her affair with photographer Nickolas Muray.If you found this review helpful, consider giving it a thumbs up, so I know to write more like it in the future. It was a fun puzzle. There was one piece missing but I still enjoyed it very much.

I do a lot of jigsaw puzzles, I love every one that I have by EuroGraphics, they are excellent quality. This one is perfect for the lock-down, It is hard but satisfying. And I am a fan of Frida Kahlo, I don't think her work is as beautiful as Klimt or Monet but something about her and her life really appeal to me.

I loved doing this puzzle. It was challenging but not too frustrating, and the image of the Kahlo painting is high resolution and rich in color and detail. Frida Kahlo puzzles are a rare find, and this one did not disappoint! Great price and fast shipping too.

I purchased this puzzle or daughter and granddaughter to work on together. Eventually, five people worked on putting it together. The artwork is beautiful, but the puzzle pieces are very similar in and difficult to put together. Eventually, my granddaughter, a young adult, said, “This isn’t fun any more” and quit. The rest of the family used various puzzle solving strategies and group effort to complete it, but not without frustration.

The cat and monkey are tough to do find the parts for because it is black and 1/5 of the puzzle size. Now that it is done WOW! I love it. She is hanging right by the entry door to greet everyone. This one took more time than any other I did. The fire flys were tricky. You will remember doing this one. Get a friend to help you with it.

I originally bought this puzzle for my daughter's birthday for us to do together because she absolutely loves Frida Kahlo and have done numerous Frida puzzles together. By the time her birthday came and we were finally able to sit and do the puzzle together, about a month and a half had passed since I originally ordered it. This only became a problem when we started to put the puzzle together, starting with the boarder of course. After we pulled out ALL the boarder pieces and began to assembled the puzzle, we realized that lots of pieces along the boarder were missing leaving many incomplete gaps! We went through the rest of the puzzle pieces over and over and the pieces simply were not there...and no, we had not dropped or lost any pieces. My 14 year old daughter and I do puzzles together all the time and are super conscious about keeping track of all the pieces at all times! We knew for a fact that pieces we missing from the box because at the bottom of the puzzle picture, there's writing; it's the copyright information so these pieces are incredibly easy to find and assemble but they simply weren't there. We decided to continue just continue with the puzzle and I figured that I would just reach out to seller. Unfortunately, it was then that I realized that I was now passed the allowed return or exchange period and no longer had the ability to reach out to the seller.My daughter was devastated but I told her not to worry because I had a plan. I would simply just go ahead and order another of the same puzzle from the same seller and we'll use the pieces of the new puzzle to replace the missing pieces of the old puzzle! Problem solved, right!? WRONG! When we got the new puzzle I ordered, we went through the process again of pulling out the boarder pieces; among those, we instantly pulled the pieces at the bottom of the puzzle with the copyright writing and began to look for the ones from the new puzzle to fill in the gaps of the original puzzle and that's when we came across our next problem; the new pieces from the new puzzle is cut differently than the original puzzle...so the pieces don't match. My plan was a bust.At this point, I don't know what to do; the first puzzle is definitely garbage...all the progress we made is for nothing because we know for a fact that it's missing pieces and with the new puzzle, we're completely paranoid that it's missing pieces too because we now know for a fact that this is an issue with this puzzle manufacturer.MY ADVICE: Save yourself the money and the frustration and stay away from this manufacturer...I have never had this problem with puzzles before UNTIL I bought this brand.

This was a great gift idea for my wife, who absolutely loves it. This puzzle is of excellent quality, and presents an good challenge. It arrived in a timely fashion, and in excellent condition.
