Saves Lives
I had purchased this detector 2 months ago, after a gut instinct to replace the one that was already in the house before I moved in 6 years ago. I came home for lunch on a normal Tuesday afternoon, and the alarm was going off. I called 911, fire department found small leak coming from the stove. Hope they work
We learned not to place them in kitchen since we have gas cooktop and carbon monoxide is not uncommon around cooking with gas. We did not understand plugging them in higher up since nearly all our plugs around the house are fairly low for things like lamps and appliances. We hope they never go on which would mean we do not have a leaking furnace.

Plug in - no battery!
A compact CO detector that plugs into a wall outlet. It doesn't have a battery and so won't stop working when the battery dies. You can't buy this in CA where they now require batteries and expiration dates, but I got it in FL.
