[Installed on someone else's car]I was using a piece of wood to hold up the hood which was fine but always in the back of my mind that the hood could fall on my head.Prior to this I hadn't replaced or installed hood struts/dampeners before So I was a little nervous. I used a curved pick to pull back the clips on the ends of the old ones and swapped them right out.I thought something was wrong with them at first because before installing my spaghetti arms couldn't get them to compress but once they were in it was a breeze.Quick, easy and super satisfying.

sub zero temps makes the shock dampers useless after a couple of years. These are great replacements and easy to install yourself. The Honda dealership wanted 263$ to replace only the hood dampeners, and I started laughing at them. It took less than ten minutes to replace both good and hatchback struts and it's good as new.I'd recommend these.

Bought these for a 2012 Honda Crosstour. I was very skeptical about the quality for the price paid but first off, these things were packed securely. Amazon has a bad habit now a days shipping things in bags to save on shipping. These were bubble wrapped individually and packed in a box. Bravo. Secondly , they are a exact fit and work (for now). Not sure how long they will last but they work right now flawlessly.
