More than just an electrical connection box!
After much research, I purchased this item to be used as a simple "lock box" to store keys and other such "things". I found this item to be a perfect solution as opposed to purchasing expensive "lock boxes" that need not be so sophisticated or expensive. The simple "lock screw" works perfectly fine for my needs as a key lock is not needed for my application. The box is well made, durable and perfect for my use ... especially because "I like to think outside the box"! Ha, Ha! You too may find a use for this beyond its typical electrical connection design/use! Thank you ... KCL

Great for a semi-secure low-voltage junction box
This is a metal box, with a hinged door and latch. It is solidly built, and works.I bought 2 of these to use in the back of a media closet install, where I made about 60 jumper connections for speaker wires and network cables. The knockouts provided many sized choices, and I used conduit cable clamps to hold my wires in place. Though not required in my area, I like to use metal junction boxes like this when doing low voltage speaker/video/network cable wiring or junctions, to keep things tidy, in place, and others curious hands away.This box comes with a grounding standoff and bolt, which I didn't use. It comes pre-assemebled and well packed, but between pieces of that white foam that always breaks up and gets those little white pieces everywhere. I really dislike that stuff.The latch IS NOT LOCKING. I actually preferred this, as it means there was no key to loose, or use. A large flat head screw driver open and closes the latch when the door is closed.

Good box but does not have a key lock
Good quality but not keyed lock. Not useful without being lockable

Well made heavy duty
Bought for project to automate on/off for water heater. Heavy gadgets steel and good catch keeps door closed. Decent price

Great box, but expensive.
I bought this box to run 6 NM-B cables into. I could have use a 4 11/16 square box with blank cover, but this was in an attic, wired while standing on a tall step ladder, and I really wanted some extra room in the box. Even though I spent $15 on this box, it was so nice to have plenty of room for all 6 cables and it was a breeze to connect everything together and fold into the box. Quality was excellent and I have no complaints except for the price. $10 would be more reasonable.

Exactly right.
I fit a bunch of stuff in this box: relay, 12V adapter, cables 120VAC connections.
