Q: What is the mainline made of?

It's metal, similar to a bank lock cord.

Q: I've always used the chain stringers but I want something that doesn't make much noise for my kayak. Does anyone know if this one is noisy?

Since it’s metal I would assume it would be somewhat noisy. It is a good quality product and built to last and it has a long enough coated line that I would not be hesitant to buy even if it does make some noise.

Q: how much weight will each clip hold

We’ve had walleye up to five pounds on it without a problem.
