M-D Building Products 33621 30-Inch by 36-Inch Patio Grille

This is a great addition.to our screen door. The screen is almost the full length of our door and has to be removed to put in the glass in the winter. I immediately regretted ordering that door because I was afraid the kitties world lean on the door and tear the mesh. I had this ready to install even before our door arrived. I ordered this large size but didn't want to drill our door. I bought the wire Command hooks.and used these to attach the grill to the door. It is wide enough but worked perfectly on.the frame of the screen, so that's where I had to attach the hooks, not the door. I had to attach mine vertically so that the extended part is up and down, not accross.It turns out that my cats never scratch at this but the grille has saved my screen numerous times. When I am holding things and trying to unlock the front door and the screen door closes into my bag or hip, the grille provides a hard surface and protects the mesh screen. If I didn't have this on my door, I know that out screen would have already either ripped or at least have to be re inserted. This grille is great. I put it up higher than I had originally planned to to make sure it protects the screen from my handbag or hip.Im actually going to get another one for the glass, too. I's rather the grille knock into me than the glass.I bought the bronze and it matches the bronze colored screen door, so it really looks good. Its not too noticeable from.the outside and my actual wood front door is dark, too.EDITED TO ADD: I've had this two years. After the first year, I had to remove the Command Hooks (which really wasn't a brilliant idea and finally drill in screws to hold it in. It's stayed on great ever since. Don't use command hooks. . . they won't work after awhile

The item is different than the website picture and the height & width are transposed. We needed a 36" tall screen protector for a medium size dog, and received a 30" tall protector . A steel top mounting bar had to be fabricated to make this item usable and to add insult to injury, there were only 3 mounting screws supplied for the 4 mounting tabs. The tabs were also bent and had to be straightened. This item reeked of cheap and shoddy.

I had been looking for a quality Grill for my porch door for months - large ones that are built well are hard to find - needed extra protection from the squirrels, my dogs chasing the squirrels and for security. This is extremely well made, strong, excellent quality (no sharp edges). Must use tools to aluminum frame work to add the screws. I'm very pleased - it is exactly what i had been looking for & just the right size!

The legs you use to attach screen were bent on delivery. Put some time in trying to straighten. Will have to try something else. I'm sure though that I will be successful! Would hate to return because it is a well made screen at a great price!!

My cats kept pushing through the screen at my apartment (can't believe they never scratched it). Obviously this is an issue - I had no idea how awesome this thing would be.My sweetheart had one at his old house and told me about them.Not only was it a perfect fit, it gives the frame stability and gives you a handle with witch to open and close it easily.Great buy!

Much more light weight and bendy than the ones we bought from Home Depot. Cost was about the same though. I will not buy another of these because I’m concerned that the dogs will be able to bend it if they try hard enough.

Ordered two of them and both were broken. Did not want to be bothered to return and wait for new ones so I repaired them myself in about an hour of MY time. If you are not handy and they come broken you have a problem. 0 stars for that. They did what I needed them to do after the repair. 5 stars for that. So 3 stars.

Works great...no more broken screens. Also very attractive which is an extra plus.
