Since I was a youThis was the only chili powder I have had. My Mama used it and for the p[ast 60 years I have had to hunt to find Mexene, so far Ihave been lucky. Pure chili taste without the extra bite that most powders have.

Cant find this in our local grocery. Excellent for chili, nothng comes close to what this adds to the flavor.

Nothing will ever compare to mexene. I was raised on this and I’m in my 40s and still swear by it!! So glad it’s on Amazon!

My grandmother used to use this to maker her (locally) famous chili and tacos. I remember watching her cook and seeing this unassuming jar on the counter every time. I’ve never seen it in a store as an adult, and assumed it was no longer made. I searched it one day out of curiosity and here it is! Of course I ordered some, and it’s just as good as I remember. I used it to make bison nachos and of course they were INCREDIBLE! Deceptively simple ingredients, but Mexene has the spice ratio down pat. This is my go-to chili powder from now on!

Thank you so very much! This brings me back to my childhood. After surprisingly finding this chili powder on here not only did I have to buy one, I had to buy one for my mom as well. The order was smooth and the package was shipped and arrived timely. Inside the packaging the two shipped paired chili powders were met my my eyes like seeing an old friend. At least an old friend you can’t believe you ever parted ways with, that you were so happy to see back in your life. It even looked just as I recalled! Wow it brought back some times as my grandma who has now passed would always have this in her kitchen from my youngest memory. I even recall this powder to seem magical back when I was a young child. I snuck it out to the back yard at my grandma’s and used it all making a mud pie. Wow did I escape trouble there being that it was my grandma and not my parents. Myself being her namesake made getting away with such things an easy task. Now I can remake my grandma’s yummy Texan type of chili beans! When my mom saw what I purchased it brought her down memory lane as well. She has already plans for another order of this powder. It’s still the same recipe and one that was missed. I feel the price is fair and I’d definately recommend it to those who tried it prior as well as those who haven’t but want something that’s a true authentic chili powder that cooks up well and tasty!

I have used Mexene for years and it's the only chili powder for me.

My daughter said this was the best chili I had ever made, though it was the same recipe but with a new chili powder, Mexene. The flavor is very good and it's not as spicy-hot as the store brands I've used in the past, which is good because I can add the flavor without it being too hot for my husband's not-too-spicy tastes. If you want it hotter, you can always add red pepper flakes or the like.

Stores around ne do not stock this anymore. Glad I was able to find it at Amazon. I prefer this brand for my chili making.
