Okay so I know that using fish oil, inulin and EVOO promotes natural detox, but I wish this book had more information on how to support detox such as through chelation with zeolite. My son was recovered from level 2 autism (no longer meets the diagnostic criteria for ASD) using functional medicine: diet change (GFCF diet/low inflammatory diet), chelation with zeolite and other supplements to support gut health and overall health.All this was done before finding this book by following other books like Healing and Preventing Autism by Jenny McCarthy and Jerry Kartzinel MD. He is in a typical PreK classroom and taking off verbally more every day.He still needs improvement with pronouncing some words/sounds. (We are still supporting speech.) And he has remaining hyperactivity. (We have an IEP for ADHD and speech.)I got this book to see if I could help with hyperactivity & speech. I will be doing this protocol.I think this plan can certainly improve a child’s life and maybe recover them completely, but I feel like bc of our personal experience it needs the chelation support information. However, I am not a doctor and this book certainly provides very IMPORTANT information about healing the gut, brain and overall body.I think I am just saying for us I don’t think it would’ve been all the pieces for our journey had I got it in the beginning. We certainly still have healing to go. Perhaps all children are not full of metals (from vaccines) how my child was so they wouldn’t need chelation.I just wanted to review in case there’s another parent that does this protocol and feels like healing isn’t complete. If so, maybe consider chelation with a zeolite spray and a parasite cleanse. I don’t believe we would be where we are now without it. Maybe we are unique.Nonetheless, I am giving 5 stars and I am very thankful for the author and others like him that fight for our children when other doctors do not even try to help. Your life’s work is a blessing to many! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!Update: When I wrote my review above we were just 6 months into detox. He had went from ASD level 2 to ADHD with a speech delay, diagnostically.Since then we started working on mineral balancing (meeting nutrient deficiencies with HTMA testing) in addition to following some of the recommendations in this book for natural detox (and using zeolite spray) and saw his hyperactivity and pronunciation improve so much that his PreK teacher was dumbfounded. Do not give up on your kid. My son is almost completely caught up with a year of detox and nutrition while in typical PreK with speech therapy. Look at all the possible deficiencies your child can have and always keep trying.
