A good starter tool, priced for beginners
The drill press was great, because it ran smoothly and easy to adjust. Good for beginning builders. Ok for light duty experienced builders. Used it for milling, but if milling metal be sure to repeat multiple pre-drill holes.

Drill press is difficult to assemble on shaft
Purchased for certain job which never happened so the drill press was only used sparingly after purchase. We were never able to install the "RACK" on the main shaft. Your instructions don't give enough information as to how the rack is to be mounted on the shaft. We are planning for a new job where we will start to use the drill now and it would be very helpful to have the rack mounted. If you have someone in your Support team that could explain how to solve our problem we would be very appreciative.Tom

Quality seems good
I bought this for armoury classes and my future shop. I have not used it yet. However ot ranked 3 in a 2018 best DP review and recommended for anyone wanting a shop quality DP that will last if properly cared for (you must clean out the motot assembly and perform regular maintenance on any DP or shop machines).

Useless for metal or twist drills, barely makes it with self centering bits in wood. Lateral slop in quill about a quarter inch
The unit is reasonable quality construction, rough but serviceable. The problem is the shaft and quill assembly fit. I assembled all correctly and all was fair, until I extended the chuck and grasped it, it moves laterally in any direction the better part of a quarter inch even at half extension. This is at the perimeter of the chuck. I ran a hole through the table to test it, which should tell you something about my regard for the machine. A quarter inch drill in this soft metal ran roughly, bouncing off the sides of the hole as the drill walked away with the loose quill. It's loosely fitted with about a 1/16 inch of slop all round the shaft that goes up through the pulley, which is the only item in any drill press that really matters. It should have no tangible play at all. I can just get by using wood working bits that self center, for metal drilling in any metal whatever, or for any material with a twist drill, this press drill is completely useless, you could do as well with a hand held drill and get much less chatter. I'm simply going to use it for a wood working project and throw it away and buy another better quality. If the company cares enough to contact me after reading this review I'll let you know. I'll call them and offer them the chance to make it right, but this doesn't look like a QA issue, it looks like standard operating procedure.

Spend a little more!
Cheap doesn't mean better! I looked at all the reviews and they where giving it 4.5 stars and I thought it would be a great addition to the shop instead of using the big one......Well I was wrong! Lol it works well, like everyone says until you try to move the adjustable platform up or down no matter how tight you tighten the allen screw it moves it requires two hands to move it into the position you want it. No big deal you might think till you are drilling a lot.I had to drill and tap holes in the top and the bottom of the side bar that the up and down lever would not be affected. this is something they should have done instead of the allen screw ring.I gave it 3 starts because I had to modify it. but over all it works ok for little jobs.Hope this help,

This product is easy to put together and works quite nicely.
I love the size of this item. it doesn't take up much room in my shop and it can be moved around easily. I love having five speeds to work with. The colors of the product are awesome as well!
