It's a cute, small little hydroponics STARTER. This thing is the size of a shoebox. If your plants are going to get big, this will not suit your needs, but its good to get plants started in.The glasses are needed, these lights are very bright. Setup is a snap, but the instructions are abysmal. Use common sense and you'll be off and growing in about 20 minutes.Make sure you let your water sit for a day or 3 for the chlorine to evaporate out. It will damage your plants!!

First off it's very small. Looks like lots of reviews didn't know that. But even with its size it works well. I upgraded the airpump and stones before first use and at day 4, straight water no nutrients I had roots on all 6 clones. Today is day 7 and ready to pot em up!

Firs. All you Americans out there make sure to convert the centimer dimensions into inches to know the size before you buy it. When I bought it, I just went by the pictures provided and didn't see the dimensions. Once I recevied it I was a little dissapointed at the size but that was my fault for not looking at what was listed in the description. Still the price is not that bad for the size you get. It does come with alot of things plus English instructions. I will admit that the instructions seem to have been written by a person who can speak and at least write English but it is not their native language. Better then me, i only speak english, so good on them for knowing multiple. Even with that in mind it is still understandable. I have not used the unit yet but i don't think i'll have any problems once I do.

I love this unit. The opaque color keeps it from getting algae buildup and the only thing you need extra to get started are seeds and a liquid organic nutrient solution along with grow lights of course. It fits the Aerogarden pods perfectly and as I have two of those and a bunch of refill pods, that works well for me. I grow romaine lettuce in one unit all six pods. I grow mini bell peppers and dwarf tomatoes in my other unit two plants each leaving space for growth. This is a very easy to use planter. Just soak the sponge, add your seeds, and wait. Make sure the sponge is a little damp until the plant roots reach your nutrient reservoir. Then I add water every other week to a little over halfway, and nutrient solution every other week to a little over halfway full. I keep my LED grow lights about 2-3" from the tops of the plants. The grow light is on a timer at 14 hrs per day. I also added a timer for the air pump in this kit, I set it to run 15 minutes per hour all day and night. If you buy heirloom seeds, you'll never need to shop for salad again!!

System is extremely small, was under the assumption it would be twice the actual size like a similar one I've purchased.

Air pump and air stone, floating water monitor and growing sponges with hydro cups in a small six plant hydroponic set up for around $30. Can't beat it. I build hydroponic and aeroponic systems for drowning veggies and plants. This is a great system for in front of a window. My wife was using some bunching onions so I planted the root end cutoffs and in less than two weeks I had 6-8 inch green onion tops growing. Impressive.

I bought this last year and just got around to using it. It was missing the tweezers, 3 sponges and 3 netting pots. I gave it a 2 star review bc obviously it will produce 3 plants for me and I can find ways around the tweezers. However, I'd really appreciate the company providing the missing sponges and pots. I'm upset at myself for just now setting it up and realizing what was missing, why didn't the person packaging this product realize it though?
