The silver is grey pewter. Not shiny chrome looks like pencil lead. I've wasted a lot of everything trying for chrome look.

Neat product. I bought and used the (recommended) black polish base bur the silver came out more like hematite. I found a deep red base gave me more of the bright silver look i was looking for. Does wear off the tip edges quickly. Quick and easy to fix with uv light system. Overall im pleased with it, its jusr a bit more maintence than my usual polish.

I bought this in a rush for a set my client wanted and I made the mistake of not reading the reviews. The powder goes on flawlessly and the shine is unbelievable and beautiful... UNTIL you top coat. After that everything is ruined. It goes from shine to a dusty chalky looking gray (I bought it for the silver)I ended up having to take money off of her set... losing more money. Do not purchase this. It's a complete WASTE

This product is way cool. A Bravo product. I love it! My nails were completely done in 3 minutes and I can also use this on my resin craft projects. A I’ve lamp is not needed to put the product on. Wish it came in more colors. I will never be without this again.

Overall, I don't really recommend this powder set, especially when there are so many others on the market. I originally bought it because I only needed these two colors, but now I'm just going to opt for a set with more colors in hopes of better results.The silver powder is actually pretty decent. It has good opacity and coverage, and turns into a smooth silver regardless of what base color is under it. The powder is also fine enough that it truly does give you the mirrored effect you want to see without grainyness. It can be a little streaky if the base surface you're working with isn't entirely smooth, though.The gold powder, on the other hand, is absolute garbage. It is not even a little bit opaque, and is all but transparent over any surface you put it over. It also is not fine enough and is grainy no matter how hard you rub it in. Basically it just gives a tiny bit of a shine to whatever surface it's put over, but definitely does not give you a smooth gold mirror effect. The only way I got even slightly passable results was to put it over a flat gold or yellow polish, but even then it doesn't give the reflective effect I'm looking for.Like other reviews have mentioned, these powders also don't hold up well to having a top coat put over them. The gold powder goes almost entirely matte, and the silver powder still retains its shine but loses all reflective qualities. I have tried with a standard gel top coat, a water-based gel top coat, and even a polyurethane spray, and have had the same result every time. I'm open to the possibility that it's still just an issue caused by user error, but with the other issues I've had with these powders, I think anyone is better off just looking for a different set to buy.
