Live Temperate Springtail Breeding Culture 8oz Cup

The containers size tripped me out at first and i thought i had been scammed but after getting them moved into my terrarium i received maybe 100? Overall good stuff

It says "culture on clay" but the picture shows charcoal so i was worried, but after reading the comments under questions someone stated that the picture is misleading and it does actually come on clay. That information is incorrect this culture is not on clay but like the picture shows comes on charcoal.

When I received my first colony, I could only see 2 - 4 live individual springtails in the medium. To the seller's credit, they offered to replace the product and set me another colony right away. I received the second colony today, and I can't see any live individuals in the colony. Fortunately I fed the first colony some yeast despite my misgivings. Today there are at least 6 live individuals, and likely many more in the original colony. I will feed the replacement colony as well in case there are some living springtails inside. I'm not sure if a thriving colony was mailed to me and most of them died in shipping, or if they just send out really seedling-level colonies. My advice if you buy this item is to just feed the colony and hope for the best. It seems a thriving colony can eventually grow from just a few individuals. I have not purchased springtails from larger brands like "josh's frogs" so I have no basis for comparison. Overall I am happy with the seller's service and followthrough, but I think it would be helpful to add some kind of disclaimer that the colony you receive will not look like the product picture. Also maybe update the product listing with multiple close up pictures to show individuals, and a whole colony picture to show that it might look dead when it arrives.

The media could not be loaded. I wish I didn’t take out all the water that was at the bottom of the container to show how much there was to begin with. There was so much water and condensation! The poor springtails were drowning if I moved the cup in a certain way. Luckily a lot were still alive but I would transfer them out of the cup asap. Still happy with how many survived.

I received this a few days ago and only found one live adult in the whole container. Maybe I got one that was mostly eggs? Or just all dead...? Whatever it is, it's nothing like the preview picture.I spread it out in the terrarium anyway. Hopefully I'll see some movement in a few weeks.

Don't waste you're money. You will regret it. Nothing not one alive to much water in the container. I'm not happy will not recommend. 1 star is to much.

I want to say I got about 100 live springtails in total. I'll just have to breed them out.

When I got this from this person it only had like 7 and I asked never reply or anything
