I have been taking this supplement for the last 10 years. My skin is amazing, When I sunbath I don’t get sunburn. My eyes are much better. I will be taking Astaxanthin for the rest of my life.

Good product for eye health

I have been taking astaxanthin for 2 years. It is difficult to find a quality brand that is not expensive. What I like about this product is that you get a large dose, 10 mg per capsule. Many other brands will advertise 10-12 mg but then you find out you have to take 2-3 capsules to get that amount. So with those brands a bottle is usually a 1-2 months supply! I also like that this brand has a small capsule that is easy to swallow. I am just not sure if this brand is as effective for pain and inflammation for me as other brands on the market. I feel it does work to some extent but may not be as powerful. Still, I think this is an economical introduction to astaxanthin.

As of November 5th, 2020, the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) has approved doses up to 12mg (milligrams) per day. So, I'd have to concur with the vendor's assertion that the 10mg of NATURAL (as opposed to "synthetic") astaxanthin in his formulation is indeed a maximum, or near-maximum strength dose.As for the mention of the product's development for "maximum rapid release and superior absorption," I can only attest that I've experienced no adverse digestive discomfort from taking this supplement. Re the quality of the astaxanthin used in the product, who can actually tell without an independent laboratory diagnosis of such?So, with the my aforementioned statements of claim, it's currently difficult to refute any of the seller's many claims as to his product's greatness. The current Amazon price-point for this item seems to be a fair, competitive one in the vitamin marketplace - - as astaxanthin is traditionally a pricey item since it's produced from a marine environment. Its sources can range from items such as: algae, trout, salmon, shrimp. krill and crayfish - - hence its difficult to harvest environment leading up to a costly end-product.In fairness to the seller, I see no reason other than to render this product a 5 star rating for now. HealthyWay Astaxanthin 10mg - 180 SoftgelsI like these gelcaps - they are easy to swallow and are what I am taking now. The price is really reasonable.Astaxanthin is something I recently heard about as being the best antioxidant that can help with skin and pain, specifically that it helps you recover from exercise faster and can help heal your skin from sun damage. I have arthritis and sun-damaged skin, so if I can get any help in regard to these issues, I am all for it. The recommended dose is 4mg - 12 mg a day. I started with 12mg for 2 months and then will reduce down to 4mg for another 4 months and re-evaluate. You are supposed to see the full effects after 6 months and then stop taking them. It is also supposed to help your eyes and lower blood pressure as well. There is this warning: carotenoids, hypersensitivity to an astaxanthin source or algae, hormone-sensitive conditions, or immune disorders, you should not include astaxanthin in your daily regimen. It also may affect hormones for menopause. Fingers crossed it doesn't have any interactions with that, but so far so good. I have also read that this supplement is best taken with fish oil since it helps absorption.The capsules are a bit smaller than a dime and have a gel coating so they are excellent for anyone with swallowing issues. It is supposed to take four weeks to get the full effects of taking this supplement. I have to say even after 2 weeks, I am seeing results. I can see some of the brown sun spots on my face fading a bit and I feel it is easier for me to walk longer on the treadmill. I also noticed my eyes aren't as tired as I work on my computer. It caused no stomach upset. I have now been taking this supplement for over a year and regularly take 4mg a day with no side-effects

I like this Healthy Way astaxanthin because it has 10mg of astaxanthin, which is a generous amount, and the bottle contains 180 pills, which is also a generous amount. Since only one capsule is needed per day, this bottle will last me six months! The capsules are small and easy to swallow; they are similar to the small, red krill oil capsules if you are familiar with those. I like that this product is made in the USA in a federally-inspected GMP facility.I've been taking astaxanthin for probably about a year, now, for its benefits to the skin and eyes, mainly. I am very pale and the sun really does a number on my skin, but this stuff seems to help. Older family members have dealt with vision loss from macular degeneration, and I'm hoping astaxanthin will help prevent that from happening to me. It is difficult to say for sure at this point, but I am hopeful. Only time will tell, but I am pleased with this product so far.
