WESTINGHOUSE Lighting Corp 85613 5-1/2" Mushroom Ceil Shade, 1 Pack, White

I bought this to replace a 'missing' light cover at the top of my mom's stairs. I was surprised at how few light covers of this type were available in the size I needed. I purchased this because it was the right size and one of the less expensive. I was pleased that it fits perfectly, has a low profile (because the staircase is not built for folks over 5' 10"), and is made very well. I definitely recommend this for a nice, simple light fixture. Very pleased.

I just needed a replacement globe and this one worked perfectly.

Ad claimed 6 inch fitting and reality was 5. Did not fit and was thrown in the trash.

The cover is fine but if you have short set screws (1/2 inch) buy new longer ones. I needed M4s and I got them extra long at 20MM. Even though it says 6 inch fitter thats the diameter of the fixture. The original screws were too short for comfort and may not have worked at all. Both this new cover and the original one I broke are 5 1/2 inches in diameter. Longer screws made it a breeze. It will be easier to change bulbs and avoid breaking the cover again.

There isn't much to say about an item like this, but it's worth noting that the quality is excellent for the price. I have bought others that were so fragile, they broke while I attempted to install them. This one has a nice weight and thickness to it that feels, looks, and actually results in reliable durability. Moreover, the light has no problem getting through the glass, so your room will be well-lit and you won't have to worry about it breaking when you clean it, bump something into it, or whatever else little hit it might endure.
