My old fan was making really loud noises as it started to fail. This fan was easy to install and quiet.

I had a whining sound whenever I started my laptop and occasionally when it was running. It kept getting worst. At first I thought it was my HDD but it was the fan. Quick fix and so quiet I didn't think it was working.

Install was easy, but I've gone into the shell multiple times, so I'm getting used to it. Definitely quieter than a broken fan.However, every now and then there is a buzz/rattle. Not as annoying as the old one, but worrisome if it continues or gets progressively worse. Right now, I'm waiting for a better noise level rating. When it happens, I can feel the vibrations from the fan through the keyboard, but otherwise, it's quiet.I came back to my laptop this evening to find a system panic due to the cooling fan now working properly and causing the system to excessively overheat. Trying to find an alternative.
